Heard that, the cops walked in since evening this week past, went right to the champagne rooms...

Citations were issued... Thursday night I think...

Very interesting to hear this, as I heard the cops did the same thing at NuDen on Thursday night as well. Was apparently looking for an individual.

That is interesting, the Cabaret, was fined for not having the no touching signage required... And I heard sisters were fined for touching...

I had heard the cops were supposedly in but none of the bartenders or dancers I talked with were actually there when it happened, so it might be an urban legend. I do know about the signage but they do have the proper manager's permits with photos up behind the bar now. The risk of them walking into the champagne rooms is pretty minimal there. I think they were more than likely looking for someone or also checking signage etc was complied with, but that is more the role of bylaw than LE.

It could also be a story being told to stir up shit.

I think the fact that they are claiming it is on Thursday night, the same night that NuDen was investigated, adds a level of legitimacy to the claim.

The cops were both in gear and plain clothed when they went in, and they entered the champagne rooms on both levels of the club.

I never had any good memories from Nuden, not that I have been there often... Didn't know of what happened there either.

More than likely they were looking for someone or something specific. I know when it was Tease we had the cops come in regularly and their attitude was basically they didn't care what happened in the CR or elsewhere. They were there just to show the flag and avoid any shenanigans from the patrons, i.e. looking at patrons who may cause issues, gang related activity, drugs etc. The bar staff always went and chatted with them etc. As I said in my post above, the supervising of compliance with the license is a bylaw job not an LE job. So stuff with signage, touching, not complying with regulations on champagne rooms is their area. Having talked with the cops they did not want to get involved with any of that. As long as nobody was shooting the place up or openly selling drugs they were happy.

Well I stand corrected it seems one night a large number of police went into this bar in conjunction with the event at the Den. They didn't bother customers but checked the IDs of all the employees and went after minor bylaw violations. (signage, visibility of city permits etc.) It seems they did find a dancer working illegally and she was taken into custody.

It looks like something political as they left the clients alone. Either a local councillor flexing his muscles or they were looking for some illegal activity. And by that I mean criminal code, not bylaw violations.

A rather selective approach by LE so something tells me it was more than a bunch of bored cops looking to have some fun. They were looking for something.

i think it's pretty standard for cops to appear once every night. I know Pigale's has cops in once every night I go.

At the tease it was a social visit maybe once a month... Gord really did a decent job at walking the line of keeping things calm, and legal, while allowing girls some freedom.

Popped in yesterday afternoon. (Wednesday). Holy crap it was busy. The Parking lot was full, Lots of customers, lots of good looking dancers for all tastes, and even the champagne rooms were completely full. Not sure if everyone was just in the holiday spirit, but it was a good day there.

I just heard on FB that they closed again. Will check it out with a few of the dancers and see if that is correct.
False alarm. It seems the DJ got let go and he wrote RIP Casino Cabaret on his Instagram. Was mis-interpreted by some folks. According to some of the dancers it is still open, business as usual.

I finally made it to this club.

They have a new DJ (female which I think is rare?).

Club is smaller than I expected / remembered (only went once years ago).

The CR was alright - I like how discrete it is, but not really a fan of the benches.

Drink prices were reasonable & it was pretty busy for an afternoon.

My first post on TERB.

Been there a few times. A slightly sleazy feel to the place. Afternoons are very, very quiet until about 4 pm. Expect nothing on stage, a nice bartender and a dancer to spy you immediately and come over to work you towards the CR.

Anastasia is a real catch there. Mid-thirties, tall natural brunette, great face, tons of personality. We had a great half hour talk a while back, costing me a beer and a drink for her, before retiring to the CR for a memorable, slightly sloppy time.
