yes... safe and sound and no charges laid. Still think it was so urgent that every citizen had to be disturbed?
Yes, all found safe and sound. Was
EVERY citizen disturbed? If I've told you once, I've told you a million times, don't exaggerate.
The cops are between a rock and a hard place. If they don't put out the alert and a situation happens again like the tragedy in Orillia with the father and his daughter, they get criticized up and down of not doing all they could. In this case, everything turned out ok. Absent of a crystal ball, how are they supposed to predict the future? If it was a child you knew who might be in danger, would you accept the cops saying, "Well true, they might be in danger, but we don't want to disturb the public to ask for their help. Hopefully it all works out. Most of the time these things do."?
A couple factors that I find interesting. Mom didn't call the police, Child and Family Services did, ergo they were involved with the family currently. Why do they get involved? Because there is concern for the welfare of the children, before this even takes place. Dad takes them for a week and doesn't return them on time, and obviously isn't readily making their location known to anyone. After CFS did their initial investigation, they call the cops, and the police locate dad within 24 hours with the help of a call from the public who saw / heard the alert. Remember they were looking for a gold pick up truck. They find dad in a red car. Any reason why he switched vehicles? Obviously there is way more to this.
