The term "you've missed this' is really only apposite when talking to people with some respect for and interest in polls. I certainly have tried to miss it. I have still less of both for those people who insist on arguing over them. As if they mattered outside of political back-rooms. Way too much techno-trivia dependent guesswork and AI for my experience in any real world. But there is a sort of mean-spirited fun to be had from how excitedly people fight over stuff they don't even present accurately. And then there's the fact that I'm a Canuck, and give even less of a pinch for polls about US pols, than the little I care about Canadian polls.

If this was indeed the source for the post of 7:57AM EDT, it's interesting to note the updates don't come out until 9:30AM EDT.

If Donny was anything like a President or a winner, he'd have spent the years building the support he failed to get on 2016 so that he could win the popular vote on the next Election Day, and prove he was the People's Choice, not just the choice of 50%+1 of 538* elite political hacks.

As for trying to get him out of office, they did that with Obama too, and he at least won his Election. It's par for the course in US politics. Donny just gives his opponents more ammunition to work with than most.

Mesantime, the only election he ever won was the one the Electoral College held that made him President.

That's just simply untrue. The Republican House investigated some members of the Executive Branch and the Federal bureaucracy on some things important and some things less important. However, they never threatened or uttered the words impeachment.

President Donald J. Trump will be impeached. Maybe not convicted by the Senate, but impeached by the House. That’s my prediction, given the rapidly unfolding events in Ukrainegate. The catalyst for impeachment is the alleged CIA whistleblower and the team of intelligence community officials he is going to bat for. Trump picked a fight with the wrong crowd. Now, they’re fighting back, with the Constitution in one hand, and evidence of Trump’s corruption in the other. Game on.

I read the White House “transcript” between Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. I read the whistleblower complaint. And I read the IG cover letter. By background, I spent 34 years dealing intimately with whistleblowers and protecting them. I spent 19 years in the United States Senate deeply involved in writing every prominent whistleblower law from 1983 to 2000. I then spent five years as Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center, which helped write post-Enron corporate whistleblower laws, and defended numerous national security and other whistleblowers.

I have never seen a more buttoned-up set of whistleblower allegations than these.

To me, the whistleblower appears to have taken a leadership role, sticking his neck out to protect subordinates in the intelligence community while conveying their information to appropriate authorities through appropriate channels. It’s easy to see how the ICIG steered it to the Congressional Intelligence Committees, under the cover of great credibility, through a gauntlet of resisters.

In this one brief complaint, the whistleblower managed to do what the Mueller investigation could not: ensnare the President of the United States himself in a shameful abuse of his power. Trump held back military aid to Ukraine then asked Ukraine for “a favor” — to dig up/create dirt on a political rival for the forthcoming election.
