Just another idiot that thinks cause he lives in the city of Toronto he knows hockey !
The leafs are the same kind of shit they were last year . May make the playoffs but will not EVER beat Boston or Tampa cause they have zero heart and the young players only care about their wallets . Give up BUDS FANS they are shit and always will be because they are run by money grubbing cock roaches

You are just another idiot who doesn’t know hockey...

Look up the salary cap btw and tell me where they stand...

Also check how much they are paying their front office and investments they’ve made in coaching staff, medical practitioners, and training facilities... they tell me if they still are money grubbing

The leafs are not like the cheap ass Rogers-owned blue jays

With Harpur and Gravel making the team the Leafs have the added size and toughness and stabilize the D-core, they should make they playoffs. Sandin and Dermitt are tiny boys they should not be in the NHL let alone in the Marlies.

What a ridiculous comment. You think guys who play for the Leafs have zero heart and could care less about making the playoffs? These guys play their whole lives with one thing in mind. Having a chance to win the Stanley Cup.

Yes they'll make the playoffs and hopefully a better backup will mean they'll be able to rest Andersen more throughout the season.

Does that include Nylander?

It's come to my attention that Don Cherry ran Nikita Zaitsev out of town. How much truth there is to this, I'm not sure. I can't remember the last time I watched his first intermission show.

I'm not sure if the Leafs are better without Zietsev, he can't hurt them if he stuck around. If the Leafs don't resign Muzzin next summer, they probably won't make the playoffs without him in 2021. So to quote Artie Lange, "Nylander fuck off".

The Leafs defence remains a big question mark. Rielly and Muzzin are fine. I think Tyson Barrie is an upgrade on Jake Gardiner. Cody Ceci is a big uncertainty. Beneath them you've got lots of young guys fighting for a couple of spots (really for one spot once Dermott is healthy.)

Backup goalie remains an issue. They have to have someone who can give Freddie a break. Is Hutchinson the answer? We'll find out. Obviously Sparks wasn't. I'm a bit disappointed that Neuvirth couldn't do it. I liked his experience.

A big question is whether they can get offence from the bottom six forwards. The Matthews line and the Tavares line should be fine, but past that ... I can't say that Kerfoot has stood out for me as a strong replacement for Kadri. Spezza/Gauthier might share 4th line centre duties. I like Gauthier. Always thought the Leafs fourth line had a lot of energy when they let him centre it - but the guy just can't score to save his life.

The division is improved. I actually don't think the Leafs are a sure bet to make the playoffs, but I think they will. Getting out of the first round, though, will be tough.

Good analysis!

Of course the Leafs D is a question mark. That's a given. Does that even need to be stated? News for you Leafs are paying 3 forwards average over 11 million each in a salary cap era. How much money does that leave the D?

Of course Kadri is better than Kerfoot. How else to get Barrie.

Matthews and Tavaras line should be fine? They better be more than fine. They better dominate cause that's where they put their money. To compensate for D. Have you seen the Blues top 6 D this year? They very well may repeat. If Matthews plays 80 games I can see him scoring 50 goals. Perhaps even winning the Rocket. Tavaras line will play against other teams first line.

Gauthier has come a long way. His first year he panicked every time he touched the puck. With experience he's gotten a lot better. His skating looks a lot better, faster. But natural talent is what it is so he is limited there.

Of course nothing is a sure bet to make the playoffs. 16 teams make it and 15 don't. But Leafs not making the playoffs would be a huge disappointment. I don't see them not making the playoffs unless injuries to key players. Although they didn't really lose a step when Matthews was injured or when Nylander held out. They did suffer though with injuries to D. They had forward depth to compensate. They don't have that depth in D and if Andersen ever gets hurt forget it.

They got rid of Kadri (back to back suspensions) and Gardiner (back to back game 7 chokes) so that alone should make the Leafs better in round 1.

Well how about Austin Matthews, facing disorderly conduct charges in Scottsdale Arizona. An incident in May where AM and a bunch of buddies decided to try and force their way into a female security guards vehicle. After the guard got out to confront the group AM dropped his pants down to his ankles and basically mooned the guard although he kept his underwear on. The entire incident was recorded on security surveillance cameras for all the world to see. Clearly a case of sexual harassment against a women simply trying to do her job. The Leaf organization has stated they knew about the complaint but refuse to comment any further.

Did the culprit have a moustache? If no, then it wasn't him.

Not bad. 32 members have voted (I don't vote in my own poll) with the poll still open for 3 more days.

Not surprised that a slim majority think the Leafs will make the playoffs. That is the expectation and why the Leafs are spending all that money. Realistically, I wouldn't be surprised (disappointed yes) if they don't make the playoffs either.

That moustache is a MUCH bigger crime than anything he did at 2:00 am in that parking lot.
Next thing you know he’ll be wearing leather loafers with no socks. THEN it’s going to be time to cut him.
2:00 AM and harassing a woman! His mom and sister are supposed to keep him on the straight and narrow. Where were they?

He's a grown man.
Why would it be his mother/sister's job to "keep him on the straight and narrow"?

Obviously Dart does not know that hockey has a salary cap and that all contending teams spend to the cap.

With all of Dart's ridiculous comments I thought at first he was a 17 year old naïve little kid but the guy must be at least 60

His mom and older sister were with him in Switzerland and his mom (and maybe also his older sister) was with him in his first year in Toronto. Not sure about his 2nd and 3rd year in Toronto. If not obvious, I was only kidding about where was his mom at 2AM on the morning of that incident. Just like that other member was kidding about his new moustache.
