Even with Stamkos out, Tampa will be scary to play because they have something to prove from getting swept last year.
IMO the Leafs will have a much better chance beating Tampa than either Washington or Boston. Both Tampa and Toronto are built similarly and play a similar style. Both had been beaten in the playoffs by a more physical team and will be equally fragile in confidence comes playoff time.
Boston beat the Leafs with their 3rd line and PP. Not because Leafs took a beat down. Kadri suspended hurt their 3rd line. TB on the other hand looked like the took a beat down from Columbus last year. They were missing Hedman though and Columbus did load up with skill. TB this year loaded up with brawn but they are still a skilled team.
Once Leafs 3 injured D comes back Sandin won't play. Aside from Barrie they have good size on D. On forward Malgin won't play once Soupman comes back and Johnnson is injured. Timashov was claimed by Det and Moore traded to LA. They have overall good size and understated grit. I don't see them being intimidated. Wilson though can injure a few players.
