Perry
This is year 4 under the shapeero regime and the team started getting worse, literally, on day 1 of his taking the reins. They have a core of 4 good, young position players and then some place holders. Not that I know how good the arms on the farm are, but I do not see one pitcher on the current roster who is an above average starter, let alone an ace. Who is a prime prospect on the farm and at what level are they playing? They have to have games where it is all bullpen because there isn't even anyone in Buffalo that they feel can start. I can't see a solid rotation from internal resources for at least 3 years. There are probably a couple of serviceable arms in the bullpen, but if they don't re-up Giles, they don't have a closer either.
3 years minimum to fill in the other 18-20 positions...if they are lucky and all their plans pan out. So yeah, 7-9 years. I suspect that you don't agree, but that's the way I see it. They have a lot of prospects which a lot of hoping.
Here's a question, Perry. How long do you think it should take for a team that will lose 100 games to become a contender? Then add on the 4 years that shapeero has already had.
