My neighbor did. Looked pretty easy.May do it this summer if I have to sell next year. Anyone ever done it, rolled it on?
I`ve done a few, roller works OK. Do a good prep, asphalt cold patch and liquid asphalt in a big squeeze jug for any cracks. Do a good clean up on the edges, grass, weeds etc. Get a couple rollers and a long enough, 5 foot pole and enough of the liquid you chose...be generous when you apply it. Last thing ..wear shoes and pants you can throw out, they`ll be a splattered mess.May do it this summer if I have to sell next year. Anyone ever done it, rolled it on?
Just gave it a wash with a garden hose on the jet setting on the sprayer. Like any painting, prep is the key. Use a premium product to roll on.Did you power wash or just sweep it?
Yeah I know the names a gimmick but the stuff is cheap and does the job. And yes the squeegee method is the best but i can produce the same result using a cheap roller and just rubbing it/moving it around."Airport grade" and "Runway" driveway seal is just marketing fluff.
Ask someone who works at an airport. They don't roll anyting onto the runways Also when's the last time you saw a road get driveway seal on it?
Just maintain the cracks and don't seal the driveway.. waste of money. For what you spend in seal, tools, labour, etc... you can replace the driveway every 15-20 years instead. Asphalt is reasonably cheap.
Neighbour always sealed his every year.. another neighbour just ripped his out 15 years later and replaced it. They probably both spent the same. Guess who's driveway looks better? And the new one is completely level without the un-evenness the other one has. Old driveway looks like an old driveway + black paint. New one looks brand new.
