Hi,

I have contacted an sp today in Toronto for the first time. We exchanged e-mails and i told her what i was looking for and we were okay till now.
Later she e-mailed me asking me to provide either my LinkedIn /license or passport along with a deposit.

Now i have no issues with deposit but rest all are my private things so I asked her can we work out one of the two options

1. A meet and greet at my expense and compensation for her time along with a place and time of her choosing before the session
2. A skype call for verification of my phone number

Instead I got a plain NO. Which is her right but i was wondering is the request for personal info like license or passport. Also most sp hide their faces including the one in question I am guessing for privacy reasons so is it so unreasonable to try keeping our privacy.

I am in no way ranting on her she was right to place her security as a priority and i believe I did the right thing by keeping my privacy over the session.

any ways any replies appreciated.

Yeah, but you took the time to post this thread, didn't you?

This thread is probably going to devolve into another shitshow like the one on rates recently; so I'm going to break it down as simple as I can for you, and hopefully we can all keep the replies to a minimum.

Women want to be safe at work, and they want to hold guys accountable - hence the request for ID.

If you don't want to give out your ID, and the indie won't compromise in the way you suggested, call or text one of the 10+ agencies on this board who don't screen in that manner. That is what I choose to do. Or if you feel adventurous you can go on LeoList, and I guarantee the women on LeoList won't ask you for ID....but LeoList is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets in the chamber.

The point is, you as the consumer have choices in this industry. Take things for what they are - and make a different choice.

End thread.

I'm sure a bunch of indies will now come on and say agencies don't screen at all; and don't keep us safe; and send us the worst clients; which is why we ask you guys for your ID.

And it will be back and forth, and back and forth, etc, etc, etc.

Mods should come and lock this shit down before it goes on for another 10 pages.

Bro, it's not that the thread bothers me personally...it's just that it will lead to a whole unnecessary debate about the state of the industry. And like I said, you have choices. Either go to an Agency; or find an Independent SP who does not screen with selfies of your ID.

And if you want to kill the thread, click on the Triangle with the Exclamation Point in your first post (bottom left), and ask the Mods to lock it.

As he said above, these threads always turn into a shitshow. Multiple threads over the last year or two have occurred and it basically turns into a battle between sps and guys who think they are “entitled” bitches. Requesting personal information.
In a previous thread on the topic I summarized the options if you are faced with screening requests. I’d link to that post but somehow can’t find it. Some guys are fine with giving their personal info, some (like me) not. There are a range of security thresholds for aps and agencies ranging from “no blocked/ unknown numbers” all the way to a picture of your personal id.

How to deal with screening requests, well first of the request is too much for you, see someone else. Some providers will accept a reference from an sp you’ve seen lately. Some will accept a terb handle if you’ve built a presence on here and don’t act like an idiot. Some will accept a deposit in lieu of personal info. Some will ask for your linked in, twitter or other social media. Most agencies require little other than no blocked numbers. Many indies work out of their own homes, or alone in hotels and they want to be sure that a guy is not a risk to them. Some have had very bad experiences as you can only imagine.

My advice is find someone you’d like to see (based on what you see in their profile, and reviews here), whose screening requirements match your own risk tolerance. There are lots of girls who will accept a deposit instead of personal info. But make absolutely sure that they are reputable. There are a few scammers out there who have taken deposits and never follow through on the appointment. Via my presence on here, and treating the girls I see well (be on time, pay, be clean, be polite, treAt them like real women, not live sex dolls) I’ve been able to obtain references from many of them when I want to see a new girl. I’ve never given out any personal info, and have been quite spoiled with some of the experiences I’ve had.

There are all sorts of providers ranging from walk in MPs, to agencies to indies. You will easily find a great woman who fits your comfort zone in divulging personal info.

I wonder if you were asked to divulge personal id
info because you were not able to provide the usual
references required in a typical screening process.
You can always count on the incall agency and the lady
you have seen a couple of times to supply the reference
needed.

No Deposit no personal information ever.

I just don't bother and book the ladies and agencies I enjoy giving my money to.

Simple fact to remember...

In the GTA there is an estimated 500-1500 SP's working each week...200-300 alone for sure from top well known agencies (and thousand's of reviews here).

Around 1-5% of those ladies working want the full ID based screening process to visit them. It's their choice and your choice to agree and complete or decline and not move ahead.

The remaining 90%+ do not have this screening process. So really, you just have to decide if you really want to see such a lady who screens to such detail.

And yes, what is odd...as I have asked a few that I have done this screening with...after meeting, having a wonderful first date (or perhaps a couple) - even then, to ask for the same respect in return of sharing person ID information - makes for an awkward conversation and/or the 'deer in the headlights' looks (twice I was the first to actually ask such a question, even just out of curiosity).

Anyways, if you're single and not a public figure or plan to be - and you realllllllly want to see that SP who screens...you will go through with it as I have done, and thankful I did.

So they are not willing to disclose trivial info like a
first name or nickname even to a trusted client?

You should simply forget this SP and go and see an agency SP if you're not comfortable with the screening requirements. There's so many agencies out there and you'll find someone who ticks all of the boxes for your requirements (unless you're very picky and selective like me). Compensating $100 for a meet/greet/chat over 20 minutes is a nice idea but it compromises their safety still...you could be someone they want to avoid (know mutual acquaintances in 'real life' or you're on a black list somewhere or you're the wrong race/look/type for them etc.) or after you seeing their face you could change your mind (i.e. decide they're not worth it) and forget paying them $500 for an hour etc. and then they lose out.

What if you get married or become a public figure like a CEO of a
public company, politician or celebrity in sports or entertainment.
Not to say that you SP will use your id info against you and
I guess most won't. But could that possibility of your hobbying
past exposed by someone 'close' to you become a cause of minor distress?

Always a risk. eg. Well known history with a well known agency with public figure/non disclosure agreements but has history of outing clients/sp's personal information. Haven't heard of instances of indies outing clients.

If you are not comfortable doing something an SP asks of you, don’t do it. She clearly wasn’t comfortable changing her rules for you (and there’s nothing wrong with that), so why should you for her?

Not going to get into the debate of deposits and ID again - that simple rule above is a fairly neutral stance that I’d be surprised if anyone disagreed with.

Don’t let people overstep your boundaries, no matter which side of the transaction you are on.

Worrying about an escort you saw 10-20 years ago...is so much less risk than those who (in your later life) know about/knew about your hobby lifestyle....

Example...I know two gents who started a company together...one cheated on his wife for a long time with strippers and some escorts and his closest circle of friends knew about it....business grew pretty big and the day came they had the chance to sell the company off (to a competitor) - the non-cheating business partner wanted to sell, the cheating-history partner did not (still married btw)....

It got ugly...and the non-cheating owner gave his partner an ultimatum 'We sell the company or I tell your wife everything'.

They sold. Never spoke to each other again (obviously). Those select few of us who know the true story behind this experience had plenty to think about, to reflect on.

Back to the topic at hand - think about becoming publicly famous in the near future and every escort you have seen with a fake name sees your face on the news...a simple article about the company you run doing some 'cool new stuff' and now they know your real name, where you work and could extort you.

Doesn't have to be a SP you saw and did a screening process with. As social media and the digital age continues to evolve around us the choice to hobby becomes a greater and greater risk in the future if you have 'anything to lose'.

Same can be said for drug use, alcohol abuse (think Rob Ford, may his RIP) - so really you just have to decide if you want to take the risk, or not.

We wouldn't be here on TERB if we didn't. :)

Well then what is the risk of a SP who shares her personal
id information with her screened clients like? Does she have
even less to worry about being extorted by one of her former
clients?

Remya, don't listen to others who like to tell you what not to post in this forum. It's a valid topic discussion.

If you send providers a deposit, you will eventually get burned. Do not send a deposit under any circumstance.

PM me the name of the woman you want to see and I will send you back the name of someone who is similar in age and looks who won't ask you for a deposit or your personal information.....and most likely will be less expensive.

Cheers, and welcome to the board.

I was staying at a hotel and tried to book with an agency and they requested the name that I had booked the hotel under.

They may have legitimate reasons for asking for this but no way in hell am I giving them my information that could end up on some internal database.

My basic rule of thumb regarding SPs requesting personal ID or deposits: Nope and Nope. Go the the next one in the list. Plenty of options in the field.
