Filippo who dat?

I don't believe that what Sancho said was that inflammatory, he didn't pitch well and frustration set in. Shit happens.

Who is Trent Thronton and where did he come from? Great display of Montoya ball against the Rangers. Rugned Odor is too stupid to be Brad Marchand.

Jays will win tonight.
Trent will throw a gem and Vlad will hit his first dinger :clap2:
Hey, I was half right.

Nice outing by Thornton.
I still think he can be a very valuable #4 or #5 pitcher

Shack gcostanza Phil BBL anyone:

Jays designate Hanson for assignment after calling up a pitcher. Why would you dump Hanson over Brito? Hanson isn't anything special but IMO he is better than Brito. I realize Jays are loaded with infielders and short on outfielders but Brito is 2/30 and is lost at the plate and IMO an average outfielder. Hanson isn't anything special at the plate but is better than Brito and can play multiple positions including corner outfield. Hanson appears to be a superior base runner as well, Both are 26.

Dawgger,

Brito will be gone in a month as well so I wouldn't worry about it. Only thing I can think of is it has to do with what kind of options each player has and what the repercussions are for DAing him.

Maybe, but even Bucko was giving him a bit of shit for not handling it internally and airing his frustration publicly on twitter (or was it during an interview, I can't remember now). Stuff like that should stay in the dressing room

Here
I think many of the moves over the past 4 months or so have been calculated, high return gambles. Shatkins are panning for gold.

They already know what they have on the farm. Now they are getting a first hand look at a parade of talented others to see who might pan out. So far, Sogard and Galvis have. Brito and Hansen still can't hit, but good to have down on the farm because they have speed and defence. Luciano and Thornton are exciting rookies with obvious talent.

If they wind up with 2 or 3 active roster players out of their experiment, that would be a huge return on the investment!

And I don't see Stroman or Sanchez going anywhere. Both these guys can be studs for the next 7 to 10 years. Why trade them away? That is what you trade for! Unless it is part of a blockbuster trade, like what they gave away to get Carter and Alomar.

In the meantime, they are giving some retreads a chance to show they still have it. And those that do will be gone by the end of July. Too bad about Shoemaker!

Anyway, that is my story. And I am sticking with it. That is what I would do if I were Shatkins, not Mason.

And that is why I said I changed my mind about Shatkins.

I don't disagree with your post, but I'd like to qualify the "active roster player" part. I'd say that they have to be impact players, solid contributors as opposed to mediocre guys who are just filling in space until something better comes along. Not necessarily all-stars or anything, but just solid major leaguers.

Buck Martinez said in an interview with AM590 that it will probably take about 3 years before Vlad Jr. becomes a 30/100/.300 hitter

Are you saying Vlad might flop??
No but he will struggle with breaking balls in the near future.

He may have turned the corner. He's been pitched low and outside, he finally got to one for a single. If he starts hitting the breaking balls, pitchers will have to adjust.

No, 3 weeks....LOL.

I'm just upset our Jays are sucking shit :(

Get used to it. They going to suck for the rest of the year. By the time Vlad, Biggio and Buchette all get used to big league pitching, it will be near the end of the year. Same thing with Danny Jansen. This year is about letting these kids getting their AB's and getting their feet wet. That's why the leash will be very long on all them before they ever get sent back down. If this team was trying to compete, you would see a demotion a lot quicker, but they don't give a fuck about this year so the kids will stay up here in the bigs and work out their growing pains.
