I follow space stuff as close as I follow the MPAs in the GTA like a hobby, many in the space community felt that there was a veil of secrecy even prior to this event. Their efforts and space projects feel shady with lace of ulterior motives.

i.e. all they care about is advancing China such as the Chinese Space Station (CSS) Project vs. majority of the advanced countries in the world care about promoting International space efforts such as through the International Space Station (ISS) now they only care about a Chinese lunar settlement and not the international space lunar settlement, the writing is all over the walls what their true intentions are...https://gbtimes.com/living-on-the-moon-a-chinese-conceptual-lunar-base

Technology is to be used by everyone. Trump wants supremacy for America only at all costs but the Chinese and others obviously do not agree. "Stealing" technology is laughable but has been going on since the time of the Pharaohs. Who invented paper or porcelain for example and who is using it now? Huawei 5G networks, the Chinese moon landing, several thousand foreign Chinese science grad students in America are the reality that America must grapple with. Trump's base are not exactly people who tend to be studying sciences technology but see dominance and supremacy over others as their birth right.

Yes and no, but certainly America and China are lovers locked in a death dance and cannot be decoupled at this point in time.
The decoupling can happen a lot faster than anyone anticipated.

China's absorption and development on it own semi-conductor industry, with or without foreign partners on the mainland, probably will happen in the next 3 years.

They are not starting from scratch. All they need to do is to just keep working at it.

I cannot believe the most important question has not been asked. Did the Chinese put any mooncake on those spacecraft?

With the chinese you never know ...has this been verified by other sources?
In October 1957 the Russians sent Sputnik into earth orbit. John F. Kennedy made a speech in September 1962 declaring that the US will be on the moon before the end of the decade, but did they actually land men on the moon or did they just go up into orbit? I say that it is 1000 times easier to land a probe on the moon today then it was to land men on the moon in 1969.

TRump says China steal all the USA technology and they even have a stealth fighter design look exactly like a USA stealth fighter and also CHINA is leading in 5G technology for the next cell phone revolution when all the where all the other telecom companies are way behind.

Note: (How The 5G Revolution Will Drive Future Innovations Of IoT ) which China is ahead and outsell everyone worldwide

PS China is the next superpower is coming decade and will leap frog over USA and Russia and rest of the world... By stealing everything.
What is there to steal? All they have to do is reverse engineer with the millions of engineering student they are graduating from their own universities as well as ones from universities they send to the USA and around the world. Do not tell me they do not have any white Americans born in Omaha, Nebraska that are working for them in China as well as US, Canadian and European engineering firms that are willing to take on their engineering contracts?

I'm sure the chinese are stealing everyones technology, not only the americans
..................and the US, British, Japanese would never do that.

China (and the rest of the world for that matter) is wayyy behind the USA in technology.

China didn’t even launch their first Austronaut into orbit until relatively recently lol

Don’t fret, let China have their 15 mins of fame. This is not a space race. More like a snail (China) vs challenger hellcat (US military technology)

That may change in the coming decades.
The British empire started its decline in the 20s, look at it now. American influence started to grow around the globe at that time and is now in decline. The modernization of China only started 15 or so years ago. Empires come and go, I do not believe that I will see China decline in my lifetime. This is the trend for now, who saw this coming 20 years ago?

This is a very accurate post which talks about many inconvenient truths. I believe that this is China's century unless their government fails to suppress internal uprisings.

That may change in the coming decades.
More and more I feel the Americans' John Wayne hay days are dwindling and perhaps we should be more concerned about China's fast pace of progress (which has been unknown and unpublicized as far as the rest of the world is concerned) and the effect it might have globally in years to come.

So China accomplished what the U.S. achieved half a
century ago and people call it their great leap forward
in science. Hard to believe moon-landing with today's
level of knowledge of space communication and transportation
actually calls for implementation of any cutting-edge technology.
It is just a feat that takes a lot of money and some bird-brained
patriots willing to risk losing their lives in deep space for their country.

It is unlikely for China to benefit from the mission like the U.S. did
in terms of advancement of science five decades ago. The U.S./NASA
was smart enough to discontinue Apollo program four decades
ago. Other nations like Soviet Union had to be either very rich or
pretty dumb to want to duplicate the Apollo missions. But then China
has the advantage of dirt cheap labour cost.

Yes exactly!!! I don't know why people are so focused on polishing the Chinese balls here. Nothing thats done is revolutionary. They grow plants in the International Space Station all the time. All they care about is serving their self interests. They don’t give a fuck about contributing to the International space community. The only reason they are part of the ISS is to blood suck and steal the experience and technology to benefit their space program and have someone on the inside.

"It marks the first time any biological matter has grown on the Moon, and is being seen as a significant step towards long-term space exploration."
How is this different then growing biological matter on the ISS with no gravity influence at the most extreme. Why wouldn’t the seeds grow with the influence of reduced gravity in a controlled system? Both systems are contained and have materials and climate controls sent from earth that help them grow? Have they used the material available on the moon to grow these seeds? When someone figures out how to do this will be significant to space exploration. I.e. reusing materials to achieve sustainability and independence of the earth.

Interesting that Nasa has not published anything on this...

From your source:
Nasa has not published any statement on its collaboration with China.
In 2011, the US Congress passed a bill restricting cooperation between China and the US in space exploration. It was not clear if China’s sharing of landing data with Nasa would be considered a violation of the ban.
Aren't your questions the reason for this mission?

Nasa wanted to use China’s spacecraft to plan a new American moon mission.

Of course you would question anything coming from China. Your knee jerk reaction is to treat it with skepticism and derision. You choose to demonize the Chinese, for whatever reasons.
