Some on the left are evil. Some on the right are evil. I don't think evil has a political stripe.
My beef with the 'progressive' left - they are closed minded, irrational, dishonest and at times prone to violence if they don't get their way. They think with emotion as opposed to reason. Their political beliefs are an identity rather than an ideology. It's a dangerous way to view the world.
I'd say the same, precisely the same about the 'conservative' right, on all your points. Any extremism so unwavering that it gets labelled is dangerous to the world. And dangerous for those who let their label substitute for their own thinking. But I do what I can to avoid thinking and expressing myself with either of those simplistic, tribalizing labels, and stick to the specifics of the issue at hand.

It's called trial by fire, Butler. There is no reason to coddle anybody vying for a position in ANY elite organization. So yes, the ends DO justify the means, unless you want to end up with a mediocre top tier. And the Supreme Court IS Top Tier. Whether what the Democrats did was "unfair" or not is moot. Kavanaugh's reaction to that was a BIG FAIL. A better man, would have calmly made the same denials without the emotional, hysterical paranoid conspiracy theory tangents. An even BETTER man, would have simply admitted to some over-drinking during high school (while denying any assault). There is NOTHING wrong with some drinking in high school even over-drinking on occasion.
So when Clarence Thomas pulled the race card he disqualified himself as well?

BRETT KAVANAUGH INVESTIGATION: I READ MARK JUDGE’S BOOK ‘WASTED,’ HERE’S WHAT THE FBI SHOULD HAVE ASKED HIM | OPINION

https://www.newsweek.com/brett-kava...urce=Facebook&utm_campaign=NewsweekFacebookSF
Yes, that is the very sad part of it. Obviously, the FBI should have also interviewed the two main characters, something that was very fishy how they handled it. Hopefully, Mueller will right all the wrongs when he wraps up his investigations, that will not please Fraudulent Frump's brainwashed base. The mid terms could then change the political landscape.

Don't worry Bver. It will all be over soon enough. Then you can find the next thing to squeal about once the news tells you what it should be.
You seem to be more passionate about this stuff although you claim not to be "American"!!

Not being emotional about allows me the luxury of being entertained by those who are.

I recently saw an interview with George Carlin. Done by Charlie Rose. He spoke of how he didn't care anymore about politics other than for its entertainment value as he waited for the asteroid to take us out.

Im in agreement. Your emotional investment in the joke that is the two party system in the USA continues to supply me with fodder.

So why don't you explain how his confirmation with hurt you again......

Oh! Is this latest distraction over? According to the news not yet! You need to wait a couple of days before getting to the next great issue that will change the nation forever. They aren't done milking this one yet.

Will it be back to Russia? The mid terms?

It will hurt the Americans, not me. This will be the most divisive issue as we have seen in the demonstrations by women who have been assaulted and have come out to speak their minds.

Off course Fraudulent Frump once again came out with yet another predictable lie about the demonstrators being "funded" by Democrats.

Anyway, this is a non-issue to Canadians, and we will see the Fraudulent Frump supporters like you being really hurt when the Mueller Investigation comes to conclusion and the mid terms adding insult to injury!!

Yes, the real issues will be just down the road. Do not worry. Remember that certain individual called Mueller!!

Russians?? You better tell that Fraudulent Frump, as he claims it is now "China". But all the same we have seen what is unique. Russians and Chinese now back to holding hands and rubbing shoulders, thanks to Fraudulent Frump!!

The curtain will rise on the next act soon.

Prepare for disappointment I think. The winds are changing. I haven't seen the House stats alot but the Senate may well see 2 more GOP by the time all the votes are in.

Again you seem fixated with my "feelings". Get it in your head, that I am Canadian. What happens down below stays down below. All I can say is that the USA is heading for a disaster, if for some reason this moron of a POTUS remains in office. But off course that triggers your feelings when anyone says anything negative about that cult leader of yours!!

It's your doomsday proclamations.

I heard the same in 2000, 2008, 1980.........

You fixate on the immediate. None of it matters.

How exactly was the world economy and in particular the USA's in 2008? That was the worst recession since the Great Depression. I know the right wingers have a very short memory. Thanks to Obama's fiscally responsible policies, the USA got out of a very painful period. Obviously which party got them in that quagmire in the first place. Democratic Party? Or the more likely Republican Party? Off course you know the answer to that.

Do not worry, as it will probably be fun when the Mueller Investigation wraps up. Satisfied??

You think?
Further, they won't let things rest, and accept any elected outcome that doesnt go their way. Since the 2016 election, its been endless with seeing such things as.
- Inflatable baby Trump
- Beheaded Trump by Kathy Griffin
- Trump 'mock' stabbed in a play
- Snoop Dogg mock assassination in a music video
- Countless named celebrities like Robert De Niro, Madonna, Eminem, and many others using profanity and threats towards Trump.
- Ted Cruz has been harassed while out eating, so too was Sarah Saunders
- CNN and late comedy have attacked Trumped day and night.

Has Chuck Schumer been harassed when eating? Has any democrat? Has Cory Booker been cornered in an elevator by protesters, has any democrat?
Has any President ever seen such incredible bias and lop sided attention ever.

Democrats that are saying No to Kavanaugh are basing it of two things. Either their pure hate for Trump, Roe v. Wade or both items.
But make no mistake, its based on nothing else. Not allagations, and not 'ill temper' or throwing ice cubes.
The left is childish (many examples here of that) and can’t accept people disagreeing with them.

See. More tangents and rant. Taking the partisan side. And missing the point.

When Reagan was elected it was the end of the world, same with Obama. Same with Kennedy( the Vatican would be in charge)

I'm sure the historians can come up with more examples. Trump is just the latest in a long line of supposed disasters the nation will never recover from.

Yet it always does.

Congress is the greater issue. This week proves that.

You guys (you know who you are) should not be so hard on our lefty friends. This is only Canada, after all. In my young days I used to be very angry when dealing with them. Now days, I treat them like you would treat a half witted third cousin- not to be taken too seriously, but still kind of family. I actually feel pity for them since the death of neoconservatism and the implosion of the centrist liberalism in America. There's nothing left on the left but shrill progressivism, now days. We're talking fringes of a sewer, here. You think I'm wrong? Watch the latest protests or even the Real Time with Bill Maher. It's all doom and gloom out there. We've carried the day, again. And , as long as the middle class stays in the center, they'll be on the edges.
