It depends on whether the US Senate flips to the Democrats or not. 6 months ago, the Senate flipping seemed impossible. But now, the Senate is indeed in play.

If the Democrats take the Senate (the House of Representatives seems like a given), then the Democrats will have the upper edge (since the Senate must approve all nominees to the Supreme Court as per the US constitution.)

In 2016, Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court, however, since the Republicans controlled the Senate they told Obama to go fuck himself and refused to even consider Garland as a Supreme Court Justice, though by all accounts, he was quite qualified. This went on for a year.

If (and it's a big if) the Democrats retake the Senate in November, they will now return the favour, albeit for 2 years. There simply will not be enough time between now and the November elections for Trump to nominate another candidate for the Supreme Court. He has to wait until after the November mid terms. The Republicans know this and this is why they are going batshit crazy to get Judge Friendly Disposition into the Supreme Court so that they can stack the deck in their favour with respect to legislation for the foreseeable future.

It doesn't even have to be a Senate flip. The margin of control of the Senate is now 1 vote. And that vote just died of cancer and hasn't been replaced. (Or has he?)

The GOP is foolishly incompetent and out of control. This is the party that promised to replace Obama-care for 8 years and then couldn't get it together when it had the chance because of indiscipline and disorganization and weak leadership. All you need is for 1 or 2 GOP senators to balk at voting for a rightie judge and the whole thing goes down the toilet in a flood of shit and tears.

Bette Midler warning all women to lock up their daughters over Brett Kavanaugh. That's pretty hysterical considering she is sitting with her daughter and Harvey Weinstein

NEW HAVEN — As an undergraduate student at Yale, Brett M. Kavanaugh was involved in an altercation at a local bar during which he was accused of throwing ice on another patron, according to a police report.

The incident, which occurred in September 1985 during Mr. Kavanaugh’s junior year, resulted in Mr. Kavanaugh and four other men being questioned by the New Haven Police Department. Mr. Kavanaugh was not arrested, but the police report stated that a 21-year-old man accused Mr. Kavanaugh of throwing ice on him “for some unknown reason.”

A witness to the fight said that Chris Dudley, a Yale basketball player who was friends with Mr. Kavanaugh, then hit the man in the ear with a glass, according to the police report, which was obtained by The New York Times.

The report said that the victim, Dom Cozzolino, “was bleeding from the right ear” and was later treated at a local hospital. A detective was notified of the incident at 1:20 a.m.

Given how her daughter looks, Bette probably wasn't too worried. Weinstein was hitting on Mira Sorvino and Angelina Jolie.

BREAKING: Christine Ford Wrote 2008 Article Teaching Hypnosis To Create “ARTIFICIAL SITUATIONS”

Christine Blasey Ford, a California woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of attempted rape in the 1980’s, co-authored an academic study that cited the use of hypnosis as a tool to retrieve memories in traumatized patients. The academic paper, entitled “Meditation With Yoga, Group Therapy With Hypnosis, and Psychoeducation for Long-Term Depressed Mood: A Randomized Pilot Trial,” described the results of a study the tested the efficacy of certain treatments on 46 depressed individuals. The study was published by the Journal of Clinical Psychology in May 2008.

While the paper by Ford and several other co-authors focused on whether various therapeutic techniques, including hypnosis, alleviate depression, it also discussed the therapeutic use of hypnosis to “assist in the retrieval of important memories” and to “create artificial situations” to assist in treatment.

If the BK nomination fails as it most deservedly should, then Trump will still have 3 months to have another one of his nominees rammed through the committee and Senate vote.

Midterm winners do not take office until early Jan of next year.

Assuming all this is true, all BK had to do was politely and calmly deny the allegations. The allegations are not strong. The assault allegedly took place 30 years ago. She could be lying. She could have some weird false memory shit happening, given the extreme time lapse and the fact it was a one-time event. She could had been assaulted by Judge or Pooky or Peewee or one of BK's other creepy frat boy friends and mistakenly believed it was Bk.

But he lost his temper. He was a self-pitying, arrogant, angry prick. He had creepy conspiracy theories. He was hyper partisan. This was the king and queen of "own goals".
Sorry, but they allowed an individual without a shred of proof to attempt to destroy a man, his distinguished law and teaching careers and his family. I'm as happy to see him fight back(one of only two men) as when Justice Thomas put the verbal flame thrower to another Senate circus. The Supreme Court is a co-equal branch of government and its members are picked by politicians to achieve political ends, down the road. Democrats pick liberal judges and Republican pick constructionist judges. That's the name of the game, it always was and always will be. Judges on the Supreme Court are neither meek nor impartial. Everyone knows that and can see it in their decisions. Kavanaugh is being criticized for his response, but no nominee ever faced a more disgraceful slime than him. Good for him for firing both barrels at his accusers.

Ford put herself in way more risk the Kavanaugh.
The worst that happens to BK is that he doesn't get a gig on the highest court and has to suffice with the second highest court.
Ford's life has been threatened.

Even the female prosecutor that questioned her, said Ford ha a weak case.

More right wing conspiracy theories about Ford's brother and Peter Strzok.

Christine Blasey Ford's brother, Tom Blasey, worked in the same company as a close relative (wife, sister, or sister-in-law) of former FBI agent Peter Strzok:

And what are the accusations against him if not a hyper-partisan attack? It's all political. Week in and after looking closely at her 'testimony", I'm convinced he's completely innocent and she's making all this shit up. It's Tawana Bravley, Duke Lacrosse, etc. all over again. All the accusers were oh so sincere until they were exposed as frauds. This is a fucking fraud, too.
Interesting. Have you ever heard of the case of Emmitt Till? What bigger fraud and miscarriage of 'sexual abuse' allegation justice in American history is there? Is that in your etc etc when it should be at the forefront?

Who knows the REAL truth of the Tawna Brawley situation.

Bad boy Brett...doth protest TOO much. You could see the panic of a guilty man.

Yes that too. They made a movie about it. False accusations that lead to killing. And various ones that led to a myriad of lynchings.

Not inconveniences and embarrassments.

Michael Avenatti, lawyer for Julie Swetnick, said that "anyone" can make a false allegation (talking about the past lawsuit(s) against his client). So, is it possible that Christine Ford is also making a false allegation?

The credits of the book only mention that the authors deal with meditation, yoga and hypnosis to alleviate depression.

"Research Article
Meditation with yoga, group therapy with hypnosis, and psychoeducation for long‐term depressed mood: a randomized pilot trial"

There is no indication that Ford used hypnosis for memory recovery or even believed that it was a reputable therapeutic endeavour. All that The Federalist says is that she referred in her article to an earlier 2004 textbook by Spiegel when she was treating depression and that earlier Spiegel text had also referred to the topic of memory recovery under hypnosis with the caveat that those memories could be tainted.

Indeed, by 2004 memory recovery through hypnosis was totally discredited in the judicial system as junk science. Ford must have known that. I doubt any psychologist was doing memory recovery through hypnosis in 2004 and even less so in 2008.

There is no evidence at all that Ford "recovered" her own memories through hypnosis. The Federalist is suggesting shit with no evidence to back it up at all.

I just wasted 15 minutes of my life reading through your worthless link.
