Actually we are signatories to a convention, that has rules, so yes we are required. Asking a refugee that is fleeing a war zone for a background check is idiotic. It really is. Why don't you just admit you would really prefer to take NO refugees? Actually I kinda wish there were no refugees that needed help, but when Canada contributed to the chaos in Syria by bombing the place we do have some responsbility.
