What's the Fastest you've ever Driven on a Public Road?

The Daytona has a claimed top speed of 280 km/h. How do you manage to exceed that by 40 km/h at the Glen? Not to mention leaving time to get it slowed down for corner 5.

The Daytona could get more than 280... I am not the only one who took it over 180mph on the speedo... admittedly, accurate speed above 180 involves an element of estimate!
I took many practice runs at 2 different Ferrari Club events before I really attempted it. I had to learn to come in and out of turn 1 (after the chicane was removed at the Esses) gunning for it (and using 100 octane fuel). Yes, turn 5 was a bitch but I eventually learned how to leave enough room. I was determined to do it and I did, but only once, coming out of 4 really flying. But I did boil my brakes at one of the practice runs coming into 5... that was scary!

I think there is a lot of confusion on here with metric and imperial speeds, or speeds seemed a lot faster in the good ole days, lol.
A lot of guys with 14" dicks here...there are not many cars that are going to exceed 250 kph due to electronic neutering or they just don't have the horsepower. One dude says he did 230 mph which I assume he was driving a Bugatti because that works out to 370 kph?
My personal high is 260 kph (I don't have a 14" dick, it is only 10.5"

A little off subject,...but on the electronic neutering thing,... I was coming home after a day of battling dumb customers, when I came up on a red neck doddering in the left lane in a shiny new pickkum up truck, and I'm in a 330ci.
With my current state of mind, and not liking passing on the right, I flashed my lights a few times, nothing, so I passed on the right along with some digital communication on the way by.
So of coarse, pickup truck takes offence and starts to chase me down, so I let him gain on me on a bit, and then slowly accelerate away,... and laugh when his truck nose dives when granny kills his game.
Did this a couple a couple of time, he final gave up, and my day was a lot brighter.

In my younger foolish days I topped out my Suzuki GSX-R750 at 290mph on the 401. I was shocked that my 750 left both my friends Ducati 916 & Yamaha R1 for dead all out. At that speed telephone poles on the 401 go by so fast they feel like they are only 30 feet apart.
