230 mph but that was on a German Autobahn.

That was me apparently190 km/hr on the autobahn in a Mercedes. Thought I was flying, but cars still kept passing me
280 km/h in a Ferrari GTS/4 Daytona Spyder on Highway 11, North of Bracebridge...
And about 320 km/h at Watkins Glen... :angel: :crazy:

None. It was on the Autobahn, in the daytime, on a clear, straight stretch with no cars in front of me. I would never trust passing other cars at that speed. I'd never even go 50 km/h over the limit in Ontario either. No way I'm losing my car for a week.How many points did you lose, and how much was your speeding ticket ?!!!
I save my speed fix for the race track. I drove my friend's R8 GT at Mosport this summer. 270 km/h all day at the end of the back straight. Fun car!

When I was 17 I bought a car called a Mercury Capri. Later in its life the Capri would become a bastardized version of the Ford Mustang, but in the first few years of production it was built in Germany on a German design and imported to the states.
The car had something I'd never seen before, a speedometer that went to 140 mph. I remember thinking "oh yeah, that's happening". And later on that day on a rural back road lined with cornfields, it did.

In ’96, my Z28 SS hit 156 mph at the redline, ignition quit. Was kinda fun. Montana had a ‘safe and prudent speed’ limit back then. But also drove to California on some back roads, spent quite some time wide open.
One of the most funest drives I ever had in the Camaro was playing with a mustang gt from Reno to Sacramento, all downhill.

That's impressive. The Glen's back straight, like Mosport is an uphill climb, but longer. I've driven the Glen many times but nothing that would reach those speeds.

back in the day we used to run a circuit back home called the 626... 6 miles down 2 miles across and 6 miles back
I rode with my uncle once in a 69 coronet 440 package...with some modifications...on the 6 down he buried the needle at 160mph...hung on 2across at over 100 and buried it again for almost the entire 6 back..
What a Rush!!!!! for a 15 year old....LOL

I rode with my uncle once in a 69 coronet 440 package...with some modifications...on the 6 down he buried the needle at 160mph...hung on 2across at over 100 and buried it again for almost the entire 6 back..
