I want to know what you think is the best debut album of all time? So many good ones....

Let me throw out a couple and my number one pick.....

Pearl Jam 10
Van Halen (first album)
Boston (first album)

My number one best debut album is also my favourite album of all time....

Led Zeppelin 1

Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Here we are 40 years later and they're able to sell out a play based on the album, which has been selling ever since it came out.

Good choice with Boston's first album.

I find majority of bands have a strong debut, maybe 2nd
But later albums in general start to suck
Very few can keep producing quality

Great calls.

Off the top of my head, tough to recall. But Weezer, 3 Ft High and Rising, Homework, Ready to Die. Please Please Me, Reasonable Doubt, The Clash , Illmatic.

Had to look on lists.

Tough question.

Not their best album, that belongs to Achtung Baby, but Boy is a damned good start.

U2 Boy was a very strong debut album. They were just kids at the time. Bono's voice was like a choir boy. What's amazing about Boy is that it doesn't sound dated when you listen to it today like so many other albums of that era.

Too bad Bono's voice is a shadow of its former self now. He still has an ok voice, but back in the 80s and 90's he was incredible.

I agree with Stone Roses, Pearl Jam, Boston, Led Zeppelin 1 (Though 2 and 3 and 4 are better in my opinion).

As far as Bat out of Hell, well, it sold a lot. I will give it that. But it's was the pop music of its era, and I was never a big fan. But you have to hand it to the guy.....he's milked that thing like no other and made a career off of it.

Agree with this, bands seem to get away from what make them unique and original. Maybe trying to make more money but I surely spend less on them.

Led Zep
Pearl Jam
Boston
GnR

all good choices

My World 2.0 by Justin Bieber. LOL!

I would agree with the Beatles "Please Please Me" simply because of the immediate craze it created as well as the career and influence they went on to have.

T.O.
The Who (The who sings my generation)
Sex Pistols (Never mind the bollocks)
Violent Femmes (self-titled)

Each an influence on the other. The Who and Pistols' debuts were both devastating and profoundly influential; their respective impacts perhaps lessened only by the fact that each of those records' (now famous) singles were already in heavy rotation prior to the LP's release.
