Agree... and I know it is a small sample, but I am impressed by Rodriguez and by his number of consecutive innings without a run!

Are there any more hidden jewels in the farm system?

Perry
Danny Jansen , 22 year old catcher, in AAA
Shot up 3 levels this year hitting .300+ more walks than strikeouts.
He was considered an "all glove, no bat" catching prospect until this year. Had his vision checked in the offseason and they fitted him with glasses. Apparently he had been playing with blurry vision for several years. LOL

C. Ramirez 7 IP 7K 1W ERA 000 0.29WHIP

L. Santos 8.1 IP 7K 1W ERA1.08 .72 WHIP

My guess is Perry meant Ramirez. Both call ups have been impressive

Sorry... yes, Ramirez! And his run goes back to the minors, too.

And only to a minor lesser extent, Santos, too, has been very impressive... but, again, the sample is small, the season is long.

The one bright thing about the BJ's is that this is the time of year when baseball gets exciting!

I am now going to enjoy watching top notch, pressure games without the emotional exhaustion that makes watching the BJ's so difficult for me.

Its pretty rare for a player to go up 3 levels from A+ to AAA in one season.
He might just be ready in time for when Martin retires

I'm just wondering if Urena is ready to take over the SS position from Tulo next year
Almost anyone can take over from Tulo... I am sad to say. But the kid looks pretty good! And he is only 21 years old!

And there was Ramirez last night: another scoreless inning! :whoo:

Bot of 9th down 2-1, Hernandez gets a hit to move the runner over to 3rd. Maille smashes a hit to cash the tying run. Urena singles for walk off win. Against Britton the toughest closer in AL.

Notice these were singles with men on base something the jays were horrible at this year. I don't recall the vets Tulo, Martin and Bautista involved in a single rally all year.

The kids are all right.

Those vets are always swinging for the fences , striking out more often than not and killing rallies. Bautista is closing in on the Jays strikeout record. It's great when the offense is rolling but sluggers go cold for long stretches.

Station to station offense plays well everywhere and it's a refreshing change.
Alford , Pentecost , Logan Warmoth, Danny Jansen and the 2 top prospects Vlad Jr and Bichette are high average contact hitters. This team will be much different in a couple years.

Believe nothing of what you see in Spring Training, and very very little of what you see in September.

So what happens to Joey Bats next year? Think anyone gives him a 1 year contract for a couple of million? Or is he playing out the finale days of his career?

He's done in Toronto I think.
If he's lucky he gets a 1-year contract plus heavy bonuses with some other team
