Hi all,

For those of you who are married and share your financial information with your wife, how do you secretly stash up cash reserve to enjoy hobbying with different sp for long term?

I plan to partake one sp per month but need to figure out ways to stash up cash from my different income sources so my wife won't be suspicious. I thought about saving up cash in safe box operated by banks, but I feel it will raise too much suspicion to open up bank accounts just to have safe box to store up cash.

Is there a safe locker I can rent in North York area around yonge and sheppard?

If you guys have any recommendation, feel free to share

Just make $20 and $100s dissapear through out the week...skip lunch, skip your indulgences pay with CC and easy in 3 weeks to gather $300 for a session. Keep it a work or somewhere where if found would not be that big of a deal. Dont keep more then $300-400 extra.

Once you realize you are eating healthier, not wasting money on nonsense and cleansing your spirit in the process its not that bad a practice to get into. I am sure if the wife is smart enough and accidentally catches you she will realize its not really bad what you are doing and are not really cheating on here provided you have the right mindset i.e. would never leave her even if you met your soul mate through the process.

I think mine jokingly said a couple of times that she didn't care if I got an HE at one of these legit places that could go semi...but I never take the bait to engage further. Just create your code and stick to it ...search on here about the code and will get lots of ideas on how to manage it.

I always marvel at guys who don't have their own bank accounts. I have several joint accounts with my wife to cover various things but we also each maintain our own discretionary account for us to spend as we will.

One suggestion I have if you want to open your own account add have your wife stay out of it is to start bitching about how much she spends on hair, make up clothes etc. Talk about her getting cheap products and going to first choice haircutters.

Finally after a few mild fights tell her it's probably best if you don't see it in the joint statements because it drives you nuts. And so get her an acct. And one for you while your at it.

And then agree on an amount each can have for discretional spending per month.

She won't question you because she won't want hers questioned.

Plenty of social gatherings at work that I forget how much I spent can easily add up to $500 monthly, enough for that monthly session, AND time for social gathering does not really need to be for workmates ;o)

Ironically wives can be just as sneaky, met married lady at sex club, as far as her hubby knows she's shopping with lady friends while kids are at grandma's.

I echo butler above. I can't fathom not having my own account. Not ever.

If the OP receives expense cheques at work, especially for personal vehicle usage, those cheques should be deposited in your hobby account. Or if you want, a cheque cashing place.

I get those who say "separate account" but that is not helping the guy right now. Not to mention, we have no idea their situation and why it was set up the way it was. Also, we don't know how his work income gives money. Most average workers are not getting company expense cheques. Since that is not really helping him either, we need to come up with different ways for different guys on different situations.

1. take up a different hobby. Golf is a great expensive one that most wives want nothing to do with

2. Cash back at any store that will allow it. $20 if you can, $10 no matter what but watch those receipts because that has it on it so food buying is going to be your most used option since those receipts you can generally throw out right away. Gas is another one. Pay inside and ask for $5-$10 back

3. Collect change. All the loose change really adds up.

As for where to keep the stash, an old toolbox or drill bag, or something will work fine. She will never go into the tools. Hide it there until you are ready to use it.

I'm not married but for the love of God I cannot understand how men don't have their own bank account separate from their SO.

Once you fall into the trap of a shared account it is hard to get out.

As someone else pointed out many stores offer cash back. Take out 20 here, 40 there and toss the receipts.

Or start paying for things in cash more often so you can skim some money. Just say to your wife that by having the money/cash in front of you it is easier to track your spending than blindly using interac all the time.

Take up a new hobby. Not only does it create a chance to funnel money but creates a reason for you to be gone for a few hours here and there.

^^ Fixed it for ya!

3 accts - 1 joint for the bills, 1 for her and 1 for him. Easy I think. Others not so much. Plus you would be surprised how many men want a separate acct for themselves but want complete say over her spending habits.

I personally say, if you want $500/month free spending, offer the same to your wife. You each take $500/month from the joint to do whatever you both want. Anytime I have mentioned that, most say no. Men and women both funny enough but that is a topic for a different day.

The old saying: "if you put away a dollar every day you will be surprised at how much money you have after a year"

Wrong, you will have $365

Yes, you're right...............my wife would never think of looking at my tool!
Separate account is what works for me....if I get money back from an irregular source, like a refund on health claim etc.....in it goes.........errr that's referring to the money in the account, just to be clear. ;)

I have my stupid money account. I put away $300 a month to blow on stupidness

So maybe you and your S/O can discuss on both having your own stupid account she has one in case she really wants those shoes. and you have one to do whatever you like with it.

You may be better off not to mention SP's as one of the stupid things.

If you still have a joint account with your wife, you should outspend her from that account. Eventually, she gets frustrated and she wants her own account! As long as I responsible for my shares of monthly expenses she doesn't care what I do with the rest of the money. You're out of luck if you have a real controlling wife:wave:
