Speaking of slaves, have you seen the movie Birth of a Nation? Great flick about Nat Turner. Very disturbing.Isn't political correctness wonderful.
Sofia Copolla remade The Beguiled and took all the controversy out of the film. Clint Eastwood starred in the original (1971) as a lecherous Union Army deserter who forces himself on the women of a Confederate boarding school. In the remake Colin Farrell plays the Eastwood role as just a wounded soldier with somewhat good intentions. Copolla got rid of the forced sex and the slaves, they didn't exist during The Civil War. Go for the white bread instead of the hot beef, makes sense. In the 71 version, Edwina is played by the late Elisabeth Hartman. She made her feature film debut in an inter-racial relationship with Sidney Portier called A Patch of Blue. And she rolls in the hay with vigiour with Eastwood, but that's verboten in Copolla's film.
To put it mildly, I hate films that clean up The Civil War! And this is from the director who made The Virgin Suicides - money trumps ideals.
Explain the cheating part please.Having said that, I'm sick to death of the Williams sisters winning everything in tennis. One is a cheater and the other can't drive a car.
It's time for regine change. My gal's (Garbine Muguruza) gonna make me some dough.
Banshee has the best fight scenes bar none !!! Loved the series too bad good shows like this have a time line and it ended on a high note before losing itself to a bad plot line.Quentin Tarantino producer, the most overlooked yet totally awesome show of this century.
A minor difference between the book and movie was the rape scene. In a case of life imitating art, Nate Parker was accused of rape in his college years this led to some controversy before the movie was released and tarnished the movie. Still a very good movie imo even though it deal with a very dark part of American history. Not sure I want to see Birth of a Nation, it's too grim. When Nat Turner was captured, he was hung drawn and quartered.
Not sure if Quentin Tarantino directed the finale of Banshee, t certainly looked like he did. It has the most spectacular ending of ANY show. Danish actor Ulrich Thomsen was outstanding as Kai Proctor - an Amish Tony Soprano. He can currently be seen as Alexander Kirke in The Blacklist. The show is highly rated by IMDB, still don't understand why it was ignored during its run?Banshee has the best fight scenes bar none !!!
