Anyone else watch the mini marathon of "The Rifleman" on Saturday mornings (AMC channel)?

I love this show, used to watch it when I was a kid, Chuck Connors was sooo cool!

Lots of veteran actor guest stars and unknown futures star

I've caught it from time to time, but haven't in a long while. I used to watch it as a kid too and it reminds me of simpler times. Shows like this taught morality and ethics in the the telling of the story during the episode.

Exactly, that's what made the show appealing, Lucas Mccain teaching his son and occasional townfolk right from wrong.

I forgot how much I loved this show until I caught a couple of episodes a few weeks ago. One of them had a teenage Dennis Hopper in the cast.

I remember watching the show as a kid, the intro was the best part.

Johnny Crawford had a hit with this awful song.

Great show. He did kill a lot of people.

“There was a lot of violence on The Rifleman. We once figured out that I killed on the average of two and a half people per show. That’s a lot of violence,” Chuck recalled with conviction.
from Chuck Connors “The Man Behind the Rifle”

This is a link to a compliation of all his kills.

Another theme was that people deserve a second chance.
A good point and it shows that TV back then was wholesome and not the crap we have today, where even the news needs to be vetted and many shows are degrading not only to the mind, but in that they lack any sort of moral high ground in how to treat people.

I watch.I like it.
Never knew of it until I saw it on AMC.
Used to like Gunsmoke, Shane etc as a kid though.

Good show and so many relatively unknown at the time stars were on it over the years.

I'd also like to see a resurgence of Rawhide as I've seen almost none of it.

I used to watch every episode, but then the audio quality of Rogers AMCHD became so bad it ruined it for me.

I didn't watch it much as a kid (or can't remember watching it), but I've enjoyed watching it on AMC.

Great show.

I remember this one because of the song.

Yes indeed, that was a great song back in the day. Clint Eastwood got his start on this series as Rowdy Yates! OK now, go ahead and ask me how old I am...
