Sammy wasn't gay, but he was Arab and having a mental meltdown, which has too often resulted in a hail a bullets. BLM pointed out the hypocrisy of having the cops there. The recent charges they laid at Marie Curtis park show they still oppress homosexuals. As I said Gay Pride has become a parade for several groups that have faced oppression. Blacks are still on the receiving end and the cops have still shown serious incidents of misbehavior. Policing culture in Canada is toxic and unacceptable. Cops are essential, and I recognize this, but they need to be called out on their failings and forced to change. They have improved to a degree, but there is quite a lot still left to be desired about policing culture in Canada.
It's not oppression to prevent public displays of sex in a park. It's in fact enforcing the law and upholding community standards.

PET stated the gov't has no place in the bedroom. I agree with this. But they sure as hell have the obligation to prevent sexual entounters in publicly accessible areas on public property. Especially a place where families and children congregate.

And there is no argument, no statute, no charter of rights challenge you can come up with that gives the right of two people to engage in oral sex where children are. Period.

Go home, get a room, a bathhouse. Whatever. I don't care. But I don't want to have to run into it. Period.

They were charging people for sex in cars even though the supreme court has already ruled a car is a private place. If someone if fucking in the bushes its not in your face. I doubt they were fucking in the middle of the parking lot in the open. Also even if not desirable, there is no need to lay charges. They can issue warnings.

I don't care. It's a public park. Is there really a need for this? Seriously?

No there isn't. There just isn't. Don't have sex in public and there won't be an issue.

There is no "right" to this. None. It's stupid exibitionism and the thrill of the possibility of being caught. So if you get caught take the consequences like an adult.

The cops in fact in these situations operate on complaints from the community. Which means members of the community called them and asked them to put a stop to it.

Their right to space free of lewd behavior easily supersedes any supposed right you might think they have. Period.

Cops used to go and beat up homosexuals based on complaints by the community as well. So that is no excuse sorry. In many primitive countries what we consider normal is lewd. So there are less heavy handed ways to deal with it. If the supreme court says you can fuck in your car, then that is the LAW. If someone is being indiscreet you can issue them a warning. Public standards against minorities are the source of most oppression.

Telling the truth is not racist. Actually, the race card is so overplayed that it has lost all meaning. Drake, who black and Jewish was accused of being racist the other day. So, who hasn't been falsely accused of being racist?

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...round-black-on-black-violence/article8907404/
Yes but in your case it was not false. You made a statement that blacks are the source of most violent crime and it pretty clear that cities with very small black populations are much more violent then ones with large black populations in Canada. So you were racist or wrong or both. So suck it up.

Visit the south side of Chicago, one of the most violent places in the US, and you might change your mind.

I get around.
Yes, but how can banks or fire fighters participate in a parade that has banned police? People with good intentions should question participating in something where other groups are prohibited.
According to the police chief, it's his decision. Banks and fire fighters are free to make their own decisions.
Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said:
We have made great strides with the LGBTQ communities. It’s an inclusive relationship I’m proud of and I know the men and women of the Service feel the same way.

We understand the LGBTQ communities are divided. To enable those differences to be addressed, I have decided the Toronto Police Service will not participate, this year, in the Pride Parade.

What we will do is continue to hold our annual Pride reception.

I want to make it very clear that this will have no impact on our ongoing outreach to LGBTQ communities. We will continue to develop respectful relationships and build new ones, focusing on those who feel marginalized, with the trans and racialized communities. I will sit down with any group who feels marginalized, who comes to the table with ideas on how to make things better.

We have come a long way. We have much to do.

Delusional? Why would any straight person attend a gay event?
At best still in the closet
That's a bizarre statement, particularly in this forum of open sexuality and ads for duos, MFM, orgies, dates at Oasis and sex clubs...

The parade is open to all and a lot of fun both in and around the route.

Key part of your sentence is USED To. As in a long enough time ago and a formal apology made to the community that both sides have moved on.

Who hasn't is BLM. This ISN'T about the Gay community. BLM has recruited a few extremist protesters and used identity politics and shaming to hijack the Pride Executive and cause fresh wounds.

Ask most members of the gay community and they AGREE That lewd public behavior is unacceptable. At least my friends and co-workers do. And it's several. They just want to be average people, with kids, mortgages, Florida trips etc.

And how many warnings are issued before you arrest? 1,2 infinity?

Public standards against sexual conduct between people in parks and other public places is not oppression against minorities. It is simply this.

It is a standard by which all can enjoy the outdoors. Including children. Quite simply I a child goes running into the bush to get an errantly thrown ball they shouldn't have to come across one guy giving another guy a blowjob. Or a girl giving a guy a blowjob.

That's not oppression. It just isn't. It's a failed argument.

No need to visit Chicago, just listen to what is happening right here in Dodge City. The vast majority of victims and their victimizers (not a word I know) are black and increasingly Somali Muslims too. Black Somali drug dealers and black Jamaican drug dealers are in a vicious turf war.

Unfortunately, these drug dealer wars spread out into the broader community like Danzig, Eaton Centre, Yonge Street, etc.

Perfectly fine if the two guys are gay. Even better if they are black, Muslim and gay. That way the usual suspects can scream racist, Islamophobia and Homophobia.

No, he wasn't gay and matters little that he was Arab, he was mentally ill and he pulled out a knife and your saying that it was hypocritical that the cops were there? The cop made big mistake and was charged for it. Who gives a shit that BLM says that the cops shouldn't have been there. You're trolling.
They need to stop fucking in parks were people, dogs, children are around. Its not acceptable.

I've heard that argument but it's bullshit. The busts show they 'oppress' people who want to break the law and have sex in parks.

The same person told me that public hookups like those are important to gays because they have few places to meet people. He shut up when I mentioned grinder.

Lots of groups like BLM that march at Pride are not gay. The actions of Forcillo arise out of the toxic police culture. It is not the only example of such extreme behavior by police. The cops absolutely had to be at the Yatim situation. Straight people fuck in parks all the time. Its only when gays do it that enforcement action seems to take place. BLM did not want the cops at Pride, and now other participants have also agreed. This was to send a message to the cops that they behave like douche bags and they will not allow legitimization of police oppression by allowing them to participate.

Straight people fuck in parks all the time, why do they only enforce it when gays start doing it?

Here is one opinion of how the LGBT community characterizes the operation:

http://www.blogto.com/city/2016/11/toronto_is_enraged_after_police_sting_in_local_park/

so there you have it. The gays are pissed at the cops. So anything you or I say is kinda irrelevant.

what the fuck are you talking about? straight people get charged and arrested for public indecency, same as anyone.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/c...k-while-people-walked/CDiPbNzudH0C6adLPorN6N/
That is in Florida.. what on earth does that have to do with Toronto. Also that is not a sting operation targeted at a minority. Its kinda funny how practitioners of sexual behavior deemed to be illegal and perverted by society are so quick to jump on the bandwagon when other sexual behavior is deemed illegal and perverted.
