Masai Ujiri Thanks Trump 'For Making Toronto An Unbelievable Destination'

Masai Ujiri responded to the United States' election results in which Donald Trump is the president-elect.

"I want to thank Donald Trump for making Toronto an unbelievable destination," said Ujiri.

"This country (Canada) has an obligation to show the world how peaceful and friendly we are," Ujiri continued.

The Raptors have re-signed both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan in free agency in recent seasons and also signed DeMarre Carroll from the Atlanta Hawks in 2015.

Ujiri became general manager of the Raptors in 2013 after several seasons with the Denver Nuggets.
Should we start a welcoming party for King James ?

Fridays game against Charlotte will be a huge test; especially, for DeRozan who has the task of scoring against Kidd-Gilchrist.
...and the battle of the defensive walls begins...Hornets putting their future on defence nowadays like the Raps so this will be a great test to see who has the better wall, the Northern left wing kooks or the Trump-willed Tar Heels...MKG will be a tough test for DD yet he will find that DD is far better than the 46 ranked player in the NBA!!....good test on the road tonight with their first BtB tomorrow night with the NY Bulls in.....lets go Raptors!!

Lets hope the Raps get off to a better start than they did against the Thunder. JV(knee contusion) and Ross(sprained finger) are game time decisions. Hope JV is ready, the youngsters are busting their asses but they just ain't JV!

well that was interesting, at the half thought it was in the bag, apparently so did the Raps, late in the third thought the Hornets were a lock, The Raps didn't! good game.....It is becoming more and more apparent Raps need, a player or players that can consistently hit the outside shot, 25% from 3 point range is not going to cut it! At the end of the game the defenders were Powell, Bebe, Patterson, Joseph and DeRozan. Carroll was on the bench! Lowery had 5 PF and JV is playing with a sore knee but Carroll is suppose to be the defensive specialist and he is replaced by a second year player, interesting! Ross, sore finger and all played decent minutes. Got the win...NY tonight....should be a win.....but then the Raps lost to the Queens, didn't they?! Gotta beat the teams that suck!

Pet peeve from years gone by and so far this year, still happening, and that is the inability of this team over the last few years to bring the hammer down on a game. Raps never go out to a lead and and and hold it or even extend it ever! Somehow they will always allow a team back in it and then win ugly. Not sure what this falls under but something or someone has to get them over the hump!

Carroll is a concern but again, overall team play is so much better. Bebe and Powell showing us that 905 DLeague team is a great spot for development. Really liking the way we seem to be able to put 48 minutes of effort in every night now.

NY Bulls took it on the chin from Celts hier soiré so it's hard to know whom we'll see ce soiré. But this season so far I know what effort we'll give and that Difference from the past allows a lot more confidence going to every game. Let's go Raps!

NUT CRUSHER they still don't have that "Nut Crusher" . Once they get the lead they need to pile it on, emphatically. but as in past years, get the double digit lead and relax. DeRozan looks as if he may be the guy that put a team away but would love to see a younger guy like Powell or Ross step up and drain a couple of three or slam dunk with emphasis as a message. Too many guys on the Raps with big smiles, need some scowls!

Raps defeat the Knicks in a game that was closer than the final score suggests. Powell starts while the Raps "rest" Carroll. Powell played 29 min. 19 points, (+15) 5R 2A 1Steal. Nogueira 25.37 min 6P(+8) 10R 1A 3Steals 5 Blocks. Two youngsters putting up numbers, awesome! Both guys were awesome in the final minutes. Ross sore finger and all looks like he wants to play. Oh yeah DD 33P.

3 takeaways from last night's effort against a NY Bulls team that's going to get better as the year goes on :

1) defence in these last two games slipping a tad though they seem to be able to stand strong when necessary. Hornets and Knicks should not be able to get a century if the boys are on...hopefully this trend doesn't continue .... Bcuz D is really going to be needed as the next..

2) Two games are Cavs away then Warriors home on a second straight back-to-back! Yo schedmaker, what are you on take another hit of that vaporizer! Oh well, 6-4 after ten games can't be too bad. And then on the road for the rest of the month..! Let's see where this group is come December. And...

3) DD has lost it! below season's scoring average the last 3 games. Hate it when they don't meet expectations..!:applouse:

Tough stretch of games up next ... At Cleveland , Warriors ( Air Canada Centre ) , and away Nuggets ...

Lucas Nogueira when asked what is reasoning on why he has had a great opening ( great using the bar he has set ) start to the 2016 season ...

During the summer [Biz] told me, ‘Lucas, your time to shine, go get it.’ I know Biz since I’m 15, playing in Spain against each other," Nogueira said. "So we have a mutual respect for each other. It’s special, when he’s gone, he told me, ‘It’s your time, go get it.’ And I took it serious."

Serious and Bebe don’t always go together.

But this time it was different. Expecting his first daughter and perhaps with the sense that these opportunities don’t come around often, Nogueira decided to change some lifestyle habits over the summer.

Like?

"I don’t know if it’s good to say," said Nogueira. "Uhhh, OK. I’m gonna be honest like I’m always honest. I stopped a little bit to going out; I quit the alcohol. I go to my eight months clean, don’t drink one glass of alcohol."

Good move !! Although not impressed he wasn't taking his career seriously until this past summer ... It might explain his slow progress ... Let's hope Bruno isn't partying also ..

OK Lets hope Bebe has matured and continues to progress. So far Bruno has shown little. Stackhouse was on City tv (BT) this week hyping the 905 and he indicated Bruno would get some playing time there. Hope he starts to look like a "piece" soon, so far not much. That 905 got Powell to the point he is at now, and he may be moving ahead of Carroll.
The bench keeps improving, Powell Ross Bebe all young guy are be coming dependable. Add Patterson and Joseph and that is a decent bunch guys to have on the floor at anytime.

I hope Bruno realizes how great he has it and understands it is a privilege to get paid millions to play in the NBA ... How many players never get a chance ....

As Powell plays, he improves, which means Carroll is "resting" himself into a back up role when/if he returns. Think somebody has to want Carroll if he is healthy. Would love to see him traded for a 3 point shooter.
Where has the vaunted Casey "D" gone? Offensive shootouts are not the Casey way, need some team D if the Raps are going to challenge the top tier teams.

The one thing about the NBA I like is signings like Carroll are only 4 years long ... Two more years to go .....

Raps were outscored by 17 in the second quarter, they out scored the Warriors in the other 3. The one good thing I found from the back to back losses is that two of the best teams in the NBA are NOT that much better than the Raps.
Again the Raps D disappeared! At some point the players are going to realize that they have to shut the other team down! Carroll back from "resting" was -15. You would think he wold at least slow Durant or Curry down but.......Guess he has replaced Ross on my hate list:sorry:
Still have a problem watching games on TSN, Devlin is fine but the other asshole is like fingernails on a chalk board!

As KL said after the game, "O is not problem but our D is ass!"

Hopefully, they'll get over these two games and take away that they're close but still lots to do. They better get their act back on D and starting in Denver will be good. Tough road trip upcoming with 5 games out west. DC Needs to get going soon else he may go down in the nay column for Masai!!
