Seven games in, almost tenth of season and the boys are 5-2 and 2-0 on the road. Losing to Rudy hurt but boys brought that on themselves with another Sunday evening washout! These Sunday evening games really doesn't sit well with these guys.
Good win last night with rooks and bench stepping it up. Looking at this group after 15 games together, defence is really solid this year as I see a noticeable difference in team D. After all these years, core does D intuitively now and newbies seem to be further ahead with their D skills coming in. Subtle improvements have made this a very dependable D group.
What this has done is opened up a transition game that adds more pressure to other reams. Their half court game is solid even if it still depends on 1 on 1 match ups. No getting into it or getting their legs under them, just right into being competitive and smart. Maybe they will disappoint in typical TO fashion soon, but I feel this group will just get better as season goes on, especially when Sullinger and Wright get back in the mix. Where that gets us still remains to be seen, but we now get to watch a elite ball team go at it every night! When DD gets full respect,so will this team! Let's go Raptors...
