I pay around 1/2 as much for a Goodlife Fitness membership.
But it comes down to convenience and how often you work out, over the long term. And what you do - the Mississauga location has indoor and outdoor pools so if you are into it and the lane swim hours are good, it would probably be worth it.
That building also has squash courts and a climbing wall so if you're going to use all the facilities, it's probably worth it. If you are only going to lift weights, there are other gyms with better pricing in Mississauga.
And if you are going to join, I recommend opening a 'Companion account' at your bank (might have different term, that is what TD calls it). You set it up so each month the gym membership fee is automatically transferred from your main account to the Companion account. And you pay the gym through your companion account. {edit: If you want to quit after a year, tell the gym you quit, and stop the transfers to the companion account. That way they can't keep taking money from you).
Do not pay a gym through your main bank account or credit card.
