She probably has to marry him, there are always strings attached with Little Finger. The Starks better be careful of that man.So.....
What did Sansa have to offer Little Finger to pull that off?
I agree, and he will try to keep the division between Jon and Sansa growing. He marries Sansa, she is the new warden of the north and he will control her. Probably to eventually to try and conquer the south, with a united north. Jon is probably going to be the odd man out, in his own home and have to flee for his life. So I see Littlefinger being the new villain in the north, in the next season. She probably has to marry him, there are always strings attached with Little Finger. Yup if you look at it Little Finger is the ultimate villain in the show, he just does it in a low key way. He was the one to convince Catelyn's sister to kill her husband. That left King Robert Baratheon in need of a new hand of the King. Which Ned Stark was selected, and pretty much things went to hell as soon as the Starks left Winterfell.I agree, and he will try to keep the division between Jon and Sansa growing. Because Little Finger has always worked in the shadows, I truly doubt he changes his MO now. Marry Sansa? For sure. But I doubt he'd expel Jon Snow, or get Sansa to do it. There's no purpose served by this, as Snow isn't a threat to the crown, being a bastard. More than likely Snow simply because the Stark counterpart to Jaimie, when the Starks & Lannisters inevitably face off (I mean, eventually, Targaeryan, Lannister & Stark armies will need to unite vs. the Night King, but no doubt there's one more epic showdown coming between Stark & Lannister - who knows, that might get interrupted by the Night King, but at the very least it should be Jaimie vs. Jon, lead-up to a big battle next year).Yup if you look at it Little Finger is the ultimate villain in the show, he just does it in a low key way. Poor Jon Snow I don't think he is going to catch a break any time soon.
Yes I agree with you that Jon Snow has made it out of bad situations alive, and yes he was resurrected once. However he is always fighting for his life, whether it be from the Wildings, the frozen zombie army, his own men of the Night's watch. I feel like he always has to watch his back.I don't hate Jon, but I feel like he catches plenty of breaks. He has been shown in more skirmishes than anyone except possibly The Hound and lived through all of them by sheer luck (by David and Dan's admission in the post-credits of this episode) in the face of overwhelming numbers. He survived getting shot by Ygritte's arrows. And he's been resurrected. If that isn't the ultimate break, I don't know what is... because according to the books, he's dead because A Dance with Dragons ends with him bleeding to death (it remains to be seen if book Melisandre will resurrect him).
By contrast Khal Drogo gets an infected booboo and dies too easily, and an actual resurrected book character (LS) will never make her appearance in the show.
The showrunners are extremely biased in playing favourites with characters like Jon and showing their disdain for characters like Stannis.
A Jaime vs. Jon Snow showdown would be awesome. The Lanisters need to be overthrown once and for all. Their house is very weak at the moment, next season will most likely be the last nail in their coffin.Because Little Finger has always worked in the shadows, I truly doubt he changes his MO now. More than likely the real issue will be Bran - now that would put Sansa in a pickle (or more directly, Littlefinger). I don't think we'll see Sansa just revert to meek princess mode - her character's progressed too much the last year to go back. I think Bran will actually probably stay hidden in the shadows, until it's time to for the One True War.
I do think that other rumour will come true next ep - Tyrion telling the story about the Mad King to Daenys is just placed too well for this not to be followed up, and with Cersei out of options, I think that's the big ending next week. Also agree with those that think Melisandre could be this year's sacrificial lamb - no way the writers don't follow up on Ser Davos' discovery, given the ending scene there. There are other Red Witches now in the show, so it's a natural story angle to play out (keeps the GoT body count up of significant characters, yet keeps the Red Witches presence where needed in the show).
With Daenys firmly in control in Mereen, the Masters broken and her fleet now available, I think next year will be the 4 Queens angle - Queens-in-Wating Daenys & Yara, Queen (for now) Sansa in the North, and Queen Margaery toppling the Order from within. And then Season 8 will wrap things up with the Great War.
Well Dany will take the Iron Islands back. But I am intrigued by Davos finding out what happened to Shireen. What will he do to the witch. ....hmmmmmWhat could or what I think will happen.
-Cersei lets wildfire loose, and someone major dies, Tommen maybe?
-Sansa might be pregnant w/ Ramsey's baby(not likely).
-I thought Davos was going to kill Melisandre last episode, so Jon will kick her out of Winterfell.
-Littlefinger continues to influence Sansa against Jon.
-Bran learns or sees the rest of the Tower of Joy story. Wouldn't it be great if Jon and Dany were brother and sister.
-Someone kills Waldor Frey, probably Arya not LSH.
-Night King reaches the wall.
-Varys shows up in Dorne
-Dany sets sail for Westeros
Um. There is a chance he could win in the end. There is no reason he can't stay in the background while all the "good guys" fight and die or are too weakened to stop him. What I don't know is how the show is going to reconcile the two villainous forces of Littlefinger and the White Walkers. Seems to me that he'll need to be dealt with in season 7 to make room for the ultimate showdown with the White Walkers in season 8.
Ever since the first season I've found Littlefinger to be the most interesting villain on the show. Even now I don't truly know what he wants or all the angles he's working. But one thing's for sure: he now has controlling interests in at least two of the seven kingdoms. Actually, he would have three in the books and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets that third fairly soon in the show....
Daenerys would be Jon's aunt - presumably Rhaegar is Jon's father, and Rhaegar was Daenerys's older brother.-Bran learns or sees the rest of the Tower of Joy story. Wouldn't it be great if Jon and Dany were brother and sister.
I'm not sure that would be a satisfying conclusion for most people.Um. There is a chance he could win in the end. There is no reason he can't stay in the background while all the "good guys" fight and die or are too weakened to stop him.
One of the great things about this show is neither the show runners nor GRRM give a rat's ass about what the audience desires as a satisfying story arc. Just look at Hodor. They killed Hodor. HOOOOoooodooorrrrrrr! No! The fuckers!I'm not sure that would be a satisfying conclusion for most people.
In the spirit of the series though, it could be shades of grey. As in he won't outright win, but will survive to the end of the series and still be a significant player.
Who is to say he would be a bad ruler. It seems to me he isn't much of killer unless they really need killing. He did shoe up to finish the job this last episode.I'm not sure that would be a satisfying conclusion for most people.
