Like many guys who hobby I shave my pubs cuz ... I can. Well, I hear whispers in my office call me Captain Picard or Kojak behind my back, in jest. The only thing I can think is some guy(s) must have peak over in the urinals and seen my shaved member. (no locker room showers or change rooms)

I'm one of the "bosses" in the Toronto office so there's always going to be some gossip about me. I try to project a responsible, family guy image. So this is kinda distressing.

What is the general public's perception of a shaved guy? In our little subculture, we think it's "ho hum".
But to the general public, do they think the guy is a sex freak? Bi-sexual?
Any thoughts?

You're way over analyzing this "problem." It really shouldn't make any difference what they think of you and it doesn't make you any less of a man or a sex-freak or gay or bi-sexual or whatever. It's their problem!

Is your top head shaved? Maybe I am reading this wrong but I didn't see that mentioned in your post.

Yes, I have hair on my head :)

Maybe I should grow a bush and be quite conspicuous when I pee in the urinal and make sure some guys see the pubes.
... that's just weird.

Guys who shave down there usually have sex more often. That's all. I don't see any downsides of your underlings thinking you have sex more often.

Do ladies think guys with shaved pubes are douchebags? I think I started to notice some cold shoulders from the office ladies. Maybe I'm being paranoid....

BTW, we're all douche bags here so not denying it, just wondering about the public perception.

Do you say "make it so number one" while sucking a lollipop all day? I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with the sentiment that it shouldn't bother you but the fact is, it does, so I'll just answer the question. As far as my generation goes pubes are seen as gross for the most part. Females often resent the fact that while we are expected to be shaved (I did it for myself way before it became 'in') and certain men wouldn't reciprocate. A man who shaved was seen as clean and as someone who you could rest assured, has good hygiene. It also told women that he cares about how she feels and for her enjoyment. As for the way other men viewed it... they were all proud to. I suppose with older generations it could bbe seen in the way you described but I would chalk that up to jealousy. They likely assume you and your wife have a lot of fun. I really wouldn't worry about it too much. You are groomed, if they are mocking you, its from insecurity. The important thing in school and professional circles is to never allow what they say to get the upper hand. Its all about being self assured. Next time you hear whispers, whip their shame right back on them ie 'Uh...ya... I groom for my wife! You don't? Eww, bro, its 2016, if you want her to want it, make it pleasant' and then walk away looking at them like they are all insane and kinda gross. I'm not saying I find pubes gross... I'm just saying that people who tease and whisper are usually insecure people and they are trying to find your weakness and exploit your insecurity to look stronger to the pack. It is so easy to turn it around on them. Then they are the ones who look and feel foolish and YOU are the cool one in the know...YOU are the one who is a leader instead of a follower. Trust me, they will never dare mess with you again.

Take care! And be proud of who you are and what you do!

You're a manager and people talk about your pube shaving habits ? If your not Scottish and wearing kilts, I can only surmise you troll the office with your johnson exposed.

I trim but I'm not into the 12 year old pubescent look. Besides unless I want to have the goatee look, I'd have to shave the boys which if not overtly dangerous could be interesting when the aftershave is applied.

if you're the boss and you project a family guy image, why on earth do your subordinates and office mates know that you shave your pubes?

Very easy to find out the public perception. Drop your pants in the office or better yet Yonge Dundas Square and see what happens. Seriously, there's no way you'll ever know what other people are thinking so don't get so worked up over it. You'll definitely won't be able to do anything to change their minds. Do you think your boss will ask you about your shaving habits on your performance review? You're at work to make money, not to care what other people think about your shaving habits. Perspective man.

I've found the reaction to the fact that I go completely bare ranges from admiration to indifference to one girl I was seeing regularly for a while creaming herself the first time she saw it.

Do you guys even read the OP? Talk about a troll... Like pot calling the kettle black.

Just thought of another (non urinal) possibility. Maybe some of their spouses talked with my Ex and gossip made its way around.

It seemed like there were a lot of boss types on this forum with an image to project. But from the replies, it appears most are just bossy. Lol

@jessyCeleste.
Fantastic response. Thanks!

I would suggest that you stand closer than two feet away from the urinal.
