I've had the opposite.
For some reason I tend to notice when cars have low tire pressure.
If I can I let the drivers know that they are close to a flat or maybe could have an accident.
Most don't seem to care. "yeah, I know."
A few though have been downright rude, going as far as to tell me to fuck off. Rare has a Thanks been. It's your life I guess, I did my part.
I have found a few wallets.
Once at the mall I used a stall to take a piss and saw a wallet behind the toilet bowl.
It was devoid of cash but all the guys papers where there.
I made a special trip to his house to return it.
Not a little out of my way.
Thinking I had done my good deed he opened up on me for stealing his money.
I saved him the trouble of replacing his SIN card, health card, drivers, credit cards etc and got shit on.
One time I took my mother shopping and stayed out in the car as she went in.
As I sat there I looked out the side window and saw a wallet sort of under the door of the car beside me.
Picked it up and boy was it loaded. It wouldn't fold all the way. I didn't count the cash but guestimate $3-4K in hundreds.
Where do I go with it? I decided to wait, someone would miss this.
Sure enough a few minutes later a southern European couple come out yelling and screaming at each other. They start to look around the car.
I asked what was wrong. "Lost wallet!" "What does it look like?" Black, lots of money!" I held it up. He grabbed it from my hand, no thank you, nothing. He did check for the money and they drove off.
Ass Holes like that I sometimes think I should have kept it.
My reward was my mother took me to Wendy's for lunch and told me she was proud of me.
My ex and I drove an accident victim to the hospital. Long before cell phones and this was in the boonies. She had hit her head and was bleeding badly. She sat in the back with my ex. The ex wrapped her in our picnic blanket. When we got her there my backseat looked like a murder scene and the blanket was ruined. We left our names at the hospital and the location of the accident for the police.
Next day we got a call from her parents not to thank us for taking care of their daughter but asking why we had stolen her purse.
There have been other events where I have been shit on for doing the right thing.
I am loath to help anymore unless there is absolutely no other alternative. Most people aren't worth it.
Their lawyer will be in contact with my lawyer.
