The recent splurge of "Bourne" movie reruns on TV featured a dandy, nasty little chase through central Moscow. Forget which Bourne it was though.

Found it. This is the second half of the car chase. Go to the previous section of the movie for the start.

Does "Duel" count?, after all Dennis Weaver is kind of chased throughout the film by the mysterious trucker.
Maybe a slow motion chase. Great movie for suspense, though. I think this was Spielberg's first film.

Chasing my tail
Not the best, but another was Eat My Dust.
My favorite was Vanishing Point. A good thriller and one of the first set of bare breasts I've seen on tv. Yea a big deal at that age !

On the road with Willy
The Driver.
Ryan O'Neil.
He plays a pro get away driver for some small time hoods.

The original Gone in 60 Seconds is by far better than the remake.

I like the movie Bullitt and am still a fan of Steve, but the chase scene is highly overrated. Maybe in the day.
If you watch it closely you will see where they cobbled the same scene from different vantage points as different parts of the chase. And the Charger hitting the cameras, well.

I LOL'd at OJ and the white ford bronco! Not exactly what I had in mind when I posted the thread but thanks for the laugh!

Best car chase ever. Hahaha

I like how normal car chases can be a handful of cop cars chasing a crook. But the second OJ Simpson is mentioned, a million cop cars join in the chase, as well as coordinate the highways and ramps ahead of him.

"To Live & Die in L.A." has a fantastic car chase scene going the wrong way on the freeway at rush hour.

There's also a Jackie Chan film called 'Thunderbolt' with a great car chase scene. Chan plays a race car driver.

Enjoy.

Ryan O'neil was so good in that flick. Miss those days and the Drive ins.

Surprised nobody`s mentioned the movie `Speed`. Loved the scene when Sandra Bullock`s character takes over the wheel of the transit bus, and when Kanau Reeve`s character asks her if she can handle it, she grabs the wheel with both hands, looks around, then says, `Ah, just like driving a 40 foot Pinto!` As someone who`s actually driven those old 70`s era buses, I loved it!! (Ok, as for driving over that gap in the highway overpass with that bus full of people....um, not!), still excellent movie.

Alot of my favourites (Bullitt, 1974 Gone in 60...) already mentioned here.

While its not really a chase scene, the chariot race from Ben Hur has got to be up there in terms of filming prowess. They just wouldn't be able to match it nowadays with CGI.

Also, would Two Lane Blacktop qualify as a 'Chase' movie? Another great one from 1971.
