Not sure about Vegas, but I went to the one in Phoenix.

The fries are cooked in lard and lettuce and tomato are not available for your burger because they are too healthy.

The staff wear porn style nurse uniforms and if you eat a triple or quad (1/2 pound per patty) they escort you to your car in a wheelchair.

The story is hoax but this reminds me of a few experiences.

I once had a 26 oz ribeye steak in Montreal and that was a lot. It was good but can't remember the name of the restuarant it was either on Crescent or Montagne.
Peter's on Eglinton has a 33oz pork souvlaki dinner and that was just a lot of food. I have had it a few times but without the rice and only with salad. It's a great place too.
I was in Vegas at the MGM buffet and there was this really big guy about 6'5 and probably 350-400lbs every time he would go to the buffet he would come back with 3 plates so full that food was almost falling off the plate and while I was there he made 4 trips to the buffet.

I think the most I ate ever was at the MGM grand buffet in Las Vegas I was eating for a good hour and half with breaks in between. Simply the best buffet I have been to ever the selection and the quality of the food is amazing and from what I remember I think it was a $45 all you can eat.

Years and years ago, (I don't want to mention how many) there was an all-you-can-eat Chinese food buffet across from Varsity Stadium. I had a friend who was banned from it for eating too much.
I had a friend years ago when he was still in high school, get a warning from Sam The Chinese Food Man restaurant on Yonge Ste., after he downed 30 chicken balls or so. My friend wasn't fat. He had a physique like Jethro from the Hillbillies.

I so don't get all you can eat buffets. Who needs that much food? I like to feel satisfied after a good meal. Not stuffed so full I feel sick.

Late is operative word.
I suspect Pinette stepped up to more than a few all you can eats.

Buffet always feels like eating leftovers to me.
Make me what I want fresh, better each time.

I have to say I am not buffet person myself but in Las Vegas the buffets are damn good and they are very fresh with unbelievable choices.
I can't remember the last time I was at a buffet in Toronto.

Nothing beats Vegas, including their breakfasts.

In recent years, I've been going to less and less buffets and more a la carte restaurants there.

Gone are the days of the $3.50 buffets.

I am also not a fan of buffets because I eat like a bird so it's a waste of money. But when I do go to a buffet it's usually Indian. Love Indian buffets. :)

Normally, I am not a fan of Indian food, but I went to this small restaurant near the downtown U of T campus many years ago (Don't know the name of the restaurant, nor if they are still in business) and they had the tastiest tandoori chicken I have ever tried. What restaurant do you recommend for for Indian buffet?

If you see Indians eating in the restaurant they have two versions of the same dish. Toned down for non Indians and extra hot for Indians. Indian buffets are usually catered to the non Indian. Most of their dishes are toned down and creamed.
