i guess it was just too hard for the airport staff to pull up one of their youtube videos for confirmation before sending them back to their country.

god bless America!

Reading between lines:
"The record company also said there might have been an issue with the type of visa the band members presented."
looks like escorting suspicious might not be the true reason.. today's journalism ...

anyway, this should also be a warning to our dear local ladies visiting the states: please don't be too obvious

Indeed, also I'm sure that the language barrier and the teenage pop star personality didn't help matters.

Aha, the truth comes out.

Oh My Girl attempted to enter the U.S. on Tourist (B2) Visas. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at LAX saw that they had costumes and a ton and a half of luggage, and soon found out that they intended to perform while in the U.S. necessitating a Entertainer/Performer Visa either O1 or P1. Hence they were rejected for entry.

Their anger should be directed to their agent who should have made sure that they had the proper visas.

But it's much more fun to make negative sweeping generalizations about American Border staff and try to rationalize that it is somehow acceptable to want to sleep with 17 year old girls.

Even if they had the wrong visa- another way to have handled it would have been to fix the paperwork and let them in

Many Korean women are willing trafficked in the sex trade on visitor or educational visas to Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand. These women pay off their debts in Korea incurred by doing unhealthy trendy plastic surgeries, car and school loans etc. The Korean government is working with in LE in destination countries to clamp down on sex worker tourism. Currently single Korean females coming to Canada or the US, between age 18 and 40 go through heavy scrutiny at the airports which may have ensnared this K girls group. There has already been K pop sex scandals with other girls groups where Japanese and Chinese business men have been caught on hidden camera in honey traps.

Something fishy here. Coming to America for photo's. Ya right.
They were obviously up to something. Those customs guys usually have pretty good suspicions.

^ Wow, over and above whether under the pre C-36 law they are over 18, I don't think I'd risk that they were't under the age of consent period!

Yeah no kidding
They were accused of being "doumi girls"
HUGE diff from hooking

They also were not detained for 15 hours
Most of the alleged time was the group waiting for flight back to Korea

I must confess, I know fuck all about K Pop, but after viewing that video I have many pressing questions that need answers.....

8 of them? Why so many? Especially when they all look the same. With most boy/girl bands, you can spot the sporty one, the tough one, the charismatic leader and what not. With these chicks, they're all the same height, build....etc.

What happens when they reach their mid/late 20's? Discarded and rebuilt with new members? I suspect the longevity of K Pop groups suck.
