I hope your GF doesn't share the same view.I would never dare take it. If its not grown on a tree or in the ground keep it the fuck out of my body.
They didn't catch it from the flu shot. It is scientifically impossible. If you knew how the flu shot works, you would realise this. They might have had the flu or a cold already but unless your friends shared the same needle as a heroine addict, nothing came out of that need that would multiple and infect someone. Maybe not you but I know there is a fear of needles and many people would rather grasp at rumours that get a needle. All my friends who took the flu shot caught the flu i will never take the flu shot!
never puked in 20 years?...even when Justin became PM?...lol..Haven't had the flu since I was a teenager, maybe a little stuffy nose once in a blue moon but I'll never go for the flu shot. Heck I haven't even puked in over 20 yrs.
For most people GBS is a short term disease and is generally caused not by vaccines but rather by active viruses. There is no causal link between the flu shot and GBS though people who got the 1976 vaccine do have a higher rate. 2009 as the last major vaccine push and there was no increased rate associated with it.Guillain-Barre Syndrome...

At most, there is a one in a million chance of someone who gets a flu shot getting GBS (whether its causal or not) and in most cases is a short term illness. Of course you can compare it to the few thousand flu deaths in Ontario alone every year.
So you never take an advil or tylenol for pain or fever?I would never dare take it. If its not grown on a tree or in the ground keep it the fuck out of my body.
What does cancer have to do with not getting a flu shot.Sorry, just a little addendum... before the flaming and bad manners start, let me add that I am not a doctor or a scientist. I am a retired underwriter for a large insurance company. Please bear in mind that insurance companies and provincial health departments view morbidity and mortality through exactly the same prism: dollars and cents. This is not, I imagine, the attitude that your family doctor takes towards your health, and it should certainly not be your perspective. Still, you might remember that many family doctors base their recommendations on the Health Canada guidelines, and for that reason politics and economics are playing a role in the advice you are receiving. I am wishing everyone good health and a happy holiday season, even you Mencken. I hope no one here gets cancer, including you.
Your reason for not getting the flu vaccine is weak at best. These certainly aren't grown on trees or in the ground either.I would never dare take it. If its not grown on a tree or in the ground keep it the fuck out of my body.
It's possible you got the flu even after getting the shot. It's not possible the shot made you sick, twice. That's what you call a coincidence.Only once in my life and never again. That year I was sick twice a month
If you contracted the flu after getting a flu shot then you would have gotten it anyway. There isn't a smidgen of science to suggest there's any connection between getting a flu shot and acquiring the flu. None, zero. It can't happen! http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/misconceptions.htmAbout 20 years ago my daughter talked me into getting the flu shot. Never had the flu in previous years but did after getting shot. Did that for 3 years in a row and got the flu every time. Never got shot again and have not had the flu since.
