Story has been BUSTED... These aren't nannies hired in addition to staffing he is already permitted to have as part of his domestic: residential complement. These are two staff already part of the complement he is entitled to.. Bunch of fucking Rona Ambroses here

His comment was we should not have child benefit allowances distributed equally, as the rich can take care of themselves.
Effectively, we should not have handouts for the rich.

If you want to deal in pure logic, the PM is by default a high earner with an aggregate income of over 300k (and add his trust fund to the mix).
Agreed he should get a nanny as they do not have time to raise their children. Making the taxpayers shell out for it is simply more feeding at the trough.

You really need to ditch the blind partisanship, and call things as they are. We were all hoping Trudeau could do better, but as the saying goes, talk is cheap.
Given you average 17 posts a day, day after day, over ten years... it may be time to think more and type less.
And where do we draw the line? Will the PM have to cook for his family? Will the security bill have to be paid out of his personal pocket? Can we retroactively make all other prior PMs, regardless of political stripe, pay for the perks that come with the job? For that matter, why not make al the CEOs of every corporation pay their own bills and not have any job perks?

After many years we finally have a prime minister who represents ALL Canadians and thinks of us as part of the human race. A true humanist. Are we really gonna impale him with trivial bullshit???
There seem to be two types of people in the world , the ones who get the big picture and the trivial, religious, every man for himself types. The later really make me give up hope !!!

Straight from the previously mentioned spin doctor kate purchase (peter mancrush's buddy).

After being exposed as a fraud and hypocrite they decide to "adjust" the staff levels so the taxpayers are not out any "additional" money.

Translation - in addition to being nannies - they will also have to do the additional work that the maids did previously. All for $11-20 per hour. A true humanist? lol

Look I wouldn't have cared ( there has to be some perqs with this jobs) but to campaign against this type of thing and then do it yourself has soon as you are elected? That shows how much you can trust his promises.

Trying to change the channel? What the likes of you don't get is that this is not about money or nannies. It's about credibility. This is all on Justin and no one else.

All Canadians? 60% didn't vote for him...

He's taking the money out of his household fund. Harper spent the same money without a nanny.

Didn't you know that reasoning only applies if a Conservative is elected.

This entire thread is based on people being too stupid to understand the difference between an employment benefit and a tax deduction.

Or more likely being intentionally stupid so that they can slur a politician they already dislike.

If it wasn't for stupid or uniformed voters Trudeau would have never won. He is the most unqualified prime minister we have very had. 2007 a snow board instructor, 2008 part time drama teacher, 2015 prime minister.

And yet so far I feel very good about his leadership, especially compared to the alternatives we had. I do feel like Canada is back.

I'll bet your one of the people that voted for Wynne considering the alternatives you had . How's that working out for you ???

Just because he's doing that doesn't make it right Sophie. The taxpayer should not be stuck for paying round the clock nanny care.
It's like a former sales agent in my company. She went to a trade show out of town and stayed with friends instead of renting a hotel room. When she submitted her expense report to me it had a huge dinner bill included - lobster, caviar, fine wine the whole nine yards. Her rationale - well I saved the company x amount of $ by staying at a friend's place for 3 nights. Needless to say I excluded the expense from her report. And she was relieved of her duties a short time thereafter.

Wealthy Canadians who are not prime minister of Canada?

Come on. This thread is pure crap. The sort of cheap and stupid political idiocy that resulted in the Tories being turfed. Canadians are sick of this sort of bullshit personal attack.

His campaign comment was about a tax policy for high earners, not how the head of government should operate.

Bullshit personal attack on our head of state and this thread reveals whose ideas are so impoverished that this is the only sort of shit they can fling!
Hear! Hear!

100% agree with that policy position.

He is not getting a child care tax benefit. He as our head of government is getting an employment benefit that is a reasonable and necessary expense given the job.

Not every high earner needs to be available 24/7. I don't need to be, I can go on vacation, turn my phone off after work. A prime minister can't.

Don't be an idiot, trying to argue that these are even remotely the same thing just paints YOU as a desperate hack who will say any ludicrous thing in order to slur politicians you oppose.

I wonder if it really is a taxable employee benefit.

If so, no problem.

If it's a policy available to ALL Prime Ministers, then I suppose I won't argue either.

Nope.

They were sick of that egomaniac and attacker of civil rights, Stephen Harper.
