It's all part of a masterplan conceived by Josh Donaldson...Jays will not lose ground to the Yanks tonight. Game has been cxl due to rain. Teams will play double header tomorrow. I can rest my heart easy tonight and have some sex!
What Perry says: String two long men together and give them 3 innings each. We need to cover the next 24(?) games. Then we can go to a 3-man rotation if we have to. And Buehrle comes back at some point. There could be a problem with the starting pitching, Hutch has been unpredictable, Buehrle is receiving treatment and at this point no one is sure if or when he may be ready, Stroman is not really in game shape having pitched with a pitch count in the minors, not to mention he is coming off a serious knee injury, which leaves Dickey Estrada and Price if none of the first 3 can perform effectively.
Price tomorrow, Estrada first game Saturday, Strolman Second game.So Price starts tomorrow then???
The Jays are healthier and younger.I heard the double header will be saturday. Managing this weekend just became harder....let us hope Mr. Gibbons can handle it. Now wth am i going to do tonite
I think that works better for Stroman. National TV game should be the first one, so maybe a little less pressure on him.Price tomorrow, Estrada first game Saturday, Strolman Second game.
Frustration in this situation probably isn't personal with Hutch, it's pretty natural for players in a pennant race to be frustrated when they are getting blown out. Do you think they were happy with Buehrle getting bashed around? Not likely, but not personal either. I think Price has taken Hutch under his wing-since Price arrived they have been pretty much inseparable. I think it's time to move him out of rotation, his timing for bad outings isn't the best with Stroman becoming available. Guess he may be in trouble for both the MVP and the Cy Young awards now. There seemed to be a lot of frustration among the veteran players last night w Price and (predictably) JBats looking very pissed off. For reasons of club house morale alone, I do not think Hutch can be used anymore.
They may think Hutch is a good guy, but right now, he is screwing up their careers and their paychecks. If they make the playoffs and get to the WS, it means endorsements $$$$, bonuses, perhaps even eventual HoF points. Blowing games is probably like taking a T-bone away from a set of pit bulls.Frustration in this situation probably isn't personal with Hutch, it's pretty natural for players in a pennant race to be frustrated when they are getting blown out. I don't know whether they think he is a good guy or not. I didn't say that they think he is a good guy. If players took poor performance personally and got angry about it then you would have an angry league all the time, and I don't see that. I didn't see anyone getting in Tulo's face even though he isn't hitting as well as he should be. I don't see anyone pissed off at Cliff ("I make Mario Mendoza look like the Babe") Pennington. For someone to say that Hutch (who is probably trying just as hard as everyone else), is screwing up their endorsements is a little bit much. These guys know it's a team game. They stick together for the most part and guys who aren't team players are not well received. I think they share Drew's frustration, and perhaps they don't think he should be out there, but I don't think they are worried about his ability to blow their endorsements. If that were the case, nobody would have any endorsements and they would call it the Kawasaki effect. They may think Hutch is a good guy, but right now, he is screwing up their careers and their paychecks. How many times a week do the star guys talk to their agents and managers? Three or four?
"Hey, Scott. You know you told me that Pepsi was backing off Trout since Halos aren't gonna make the playoffs. You still think it's between me and Hosmer? So if I nail down the AL MVP and we go to the Series, it's a lock for me, you think?
And that's 20 or 25 mill, depending on how long the ads run?.... Kay, thanks, man. You're the best.
Oh and this Hutchinson guy. You know, he's a good guy. But fuck, man. He's gonna screw it for everyone... "
Pennington muffs some AB's in a game and no one really expects him to get on base anyway.... A starter gets blown out in 2 successive 10-run losses mid pennant race? What do you think these guys talk about in the club house anyway?I don't know whether they think he is a good guy or not. I didn't say that they think he is a good guy. If you have experience, you tell me. I spend very little time wondering what they talk about in the clubhouse.Pennington muffs some AB's in a game and no one really expects him to get on base anyway.... They need a good long reliever for the games Hutch pitches. Somehow, I don't know if the math works out for Hutch to come in from the pen to take over for Hutch. I have seen pitchers lose their lunch on the mound during a game, but I have yet to see a pitcher relieve himself on the mound during a game.I say put Hutch in the pen for a week or two and see how he does there.
Maybe he reinvents himself as a really good long/middle reliever, exactly what Jays need right now
