If Papa Bear is actually hurt and has to miss some starts, who do we send out against Yankees this weekend in his spot? Short list would seem to be Sanchez, Shultz and Stroman and Stroman doesn't appear ready.

Stroman is the best bet of those three.

September call ups and lots of arms. You would probably just need 4 innings.

Stro doesn't have his control or release point. Yankees would kill him by the 2nd.

It would be nice if we go into the Bronx with a 2 1/2 games up (not down,lol!). And,finish the 4-game series there at 2-2. Yeah, I am not greedy. Just come back home with at least a 2 1/2 games up.

Will be tough to do-could go in to New York with a half game lead and would be realistic to expect a split. There will be others who are sure it will be a sweep and the Yankees suck….etc etc, but they are hanging in there and playing tough. It could be a sweep or a 3-1 win , but the most realistic expectation is a split. Nothing wrong with being realistic at this time of year.

Reminds me a bit of the '85 season. Although the Jays set a franchise record 99 wins it was late in the season before they clinched over the Yankees who won, I Think, 97 games. I'm not saying we'll get 99 wins, just that it was a close race that year. Hopefully we'll do better against the Royals, too.
