I still instruct on contract for the military and have a few friends in artillery. Gps is not precise, usually off by a matter of meters. Israel( and others) have the capability of firing a 155 mm, high explosive howitzer shell down the trajectory of the incoming rocket.. I never said that the guided shells are used for downing rockets. Read the post again. They are perfect for destroying launchers. Arabs know that and launch rockets remotely from within civilians. Yet, the Israelis do not engage in counter-battery fire which they are capable of doing, but would also level Gaza. Instead they use air assets to visually confirm targets. It limits collateral damage, but saves terrorist's lives. What separates Israelis from Arabs is the unwillingness to employ maximum effort in a civilian area. They were at the concert prominently protesting the fact that he was allowed to play, waving flags during the concert, and heckling.
