If we can sweep today it will send a serious message to the rest of the baseball world
What message would that be, that the Blue Jays are 1 1/2 games
out of 1st, playing well with 49 to go?

Marc 0 today. The players on this team are managing and coaching themselves. The talent and dedication are shining through. But this does not make Gibbons a good manager or Walker a good pitching coach. It looked kind of odd yesterday when Walker went out to the mound in the seventh. Even Walker knew there was nothing he could say to help DAVID PRICE.

As for Gibbons being ejected in the third inning....that was dumb. Managers bark at umpires from the bench all the time..no need to get thrown out by his slow waddle onto the field. Now De Marlo Hale is handcuffed from saying anything lest he get tossed.

The young players are properly looking to the veterans as their mentors. Guarantee that every young pitcher respects mark Buerhle a lot more than Pete Walker.

This is a great team now....as good as any I have seen. I could probably manage them and not screw it up. Of course, I would bat Revere first and Tulo fifth. Smoak can contribute from sixth.

The umpire conspiracy? thinking about that one. I am concerned but not convinced...lets see how it goes for a few more games.
Exactly. When the team does poorly, it is the manager's fault but when the team does well it has nothing to do with the manager. Even you should be able to see what a stupid concept you are proposing.

It also appears you have no criticism of Girardi leaving Nova in to face Smoak with a lefty reliever available. Only Gibbons is held accountable for every loss. Which managers make every right move, anyways?

Aside from your personal perception, what proof do you have? Do you attend practices or team meetings? What inside insight do you have that the rest of us don't.

You have lost all credibility with this ridiculous claim that you have no way of defending with fact.

A lot of people bashed Cito Gaston too, some due to race, some because he was "too laid back."
Players who played for him with few exceptions seemed to really enjoy his style.
Players said Cito treated players like men, let them do their jobs,
only called someone in if there was a real issue.
I've heard different players quoted as saying: "If you couldn't play for Cito,
you couldn't play for anyone."
John Gibson carries himself much the same way, quiet, lets the players play, police themselves.
Deals with issues in his office, doesn't embarrass his players.
I don't want a Billy Martin or Tony LaRussa type running my club.

The best "bosses" I had in my working career were similar in style to Cito & Gibby.
Quiet, stood back, watched and let his/her people do their jobs.
I knew when I needed assistance they'd be in there like a dirty shirt, helping me out with issues,
I knew they always had my back.
That gave me confidence to perform without worry.

Leaders, not clowns.

Josh Donaldson is closing in on his 100th career HRS, just goes to show how tough Oakland is to get extra base hits.

I might be mistaken, but think Skyrider was just referring to just the past Toronto - KC game, and that only two Jays were suspended.

That despite hitting Donaldson in 1st, and grazing him twice, its BS that no Royal was suspended too. Tempers flared on both sided, and anyone with half a clue knew Sanchez didn't hit a guy on purpose. The only suspension should have been Gibby for coming back out.

Aside from that point, he is quite right that Gibbons is tossed way too easy, and look at how easy Osuna was tossed too a few weeks back.

But safe to say Skyrider knows MLB suspensded everyone outside that one game lol
Unlikely he was referring to just the Sunday Toronto-K.C. game, he never mentioned that game.

I realize no Royals were tossed or suspended.
Put that on Jim Wolf and the rest of the umpiring crew, not some fantasy about baseball conspiring against the Blue Jays.

You have more faith in Skyrider's baseball knowledge than I do.

There is no evidence that Gibbons is tossed way too easy, most Blue Jays fans watch primarily Toronto games.
Every team's fans thinks their team is the one being singled out and targeted.

Players/Managers/Coaches from every team get ejected from games, usually when they deserve it.

Paranoia is a magical thing, don't fall into the trap of thinking that there's some mass conspiracy across MLB to deny the Blue Jays a chance at the World Series.
The players on the field will decide who wins (with occasional help from their manager & coaches).

Bad calls go against every team. One of the biggest 'homers' for the Blue Jays, Rogers mouthpiece Mike Wilner tweeted this today:

Mike Wilner ‏@Wilnerness590 ·
Estrada, with plenty of help from HP ump Marty Foster, strikes out a pair in a hitless bot5. To the 6th, #Bluejays lead #Yankees 2-0. #Jays

Yankees who I suspect of taking sports vitamins are A-roid, Teixeira and Beltran.

The others look clean

Anyone think the Yankees hit Colabello on purpose?

If he wasn't, then I'm at a loss. As you noted, there had been a ton of suspension this year, and most would be naïve to think it only included Jays.

I'm not so quick to dismiss the conspiracy. Yesterday the 'phantom' strikes were called, and if watching todays game, explain the first two balls called strike on Colabello in the 7th.
I don't see it so heinous that I'd say all the MLB is pitted against Toronto. But perhaps a combo of Gibbons visits, Bautista tantrums and such have soured some Umps into making these greasy calls at times.

I'm certain when listening to the post game on the radio yesterday, that they said John Gibbons is now tied for being ejected the most times this year. Yesterdays ejection was a perfect example of needles. Gibbons politely walked out and said "Can I ask you a question" and GONE!
He said it in the post game interview. It was totally unwarranted.

For sure, and like you said, the bad calls against other teams do favor the Jays too.
The Blue Jays got calls for strikes that were out of the zone today too.
Skyrider (Rockslinger) says bizarre, unsubstantiated things quite regularly.
Bautista tantrum? Haven't seen one of those in a long time.
Question an umpire's call? Sure, as do lots of ballplayers.

Yes but he made his point. A fan was heckling him, Jose looked to see who it was and gave him an Italian Job.

Clutch pitching, has LeTroy Hawkins become the Zen Master of the bullpen?

Some things stay the same. The mightiest of all baseball players comes up feeble once more. With A-Rod numbers, the Yankees should have won more than one WS. Jeter aside, he is not in the same class as O'Neill, Posada or even Hideki Matsui.

Actually, I think they are fucking with our minds.

This streak since the series with the Phillies (11 & 2!) are simply unbelievable. In my opinion, they were actually shot in a studio in Hollywood -- just like the Moon landings, etc.

That was the best pitched regular season series I have seen in years. We allowed 1 run total on a solo shot in 3 games.

And hats off to the Yanks. They played and pitched very well too. I can't see them collapsing at all.

Both teams have their respective next games on Tuesday. We get Kendall Graveman. The Yanks get..... Carlos Carrasco.
