What message would that be, that the Blue Jays are 1 1/2 gamesIf we can sweep today it will send a serious message to the rest of the baseball world
out of 1st, playing well with 49 to go?

Exactly. When the team does poorly, it is the manager's fault but when the team does well it has nothing to do with the manager. Even you should be able to see what a stupid concept you are proposing.Marc 0 today. The players on this team are managing and coaching themselves. The talent and dedication are shining through. But this does not make Gibbons a good manager or Walker a good pitching coach. It looked kind of odd yesterday when Walker went out to the mound in the seventh. Even Walker knew there was nothing he could say to help DAVID PRICE.
As for Gibbons being ejected in the third inning....that was dumb. Managers bark at umpires from the bench all the time..no need to get thrown out by his slow waddle onto the field. Now De Marlo Hale is handcuffed from saying anything lest he get tossed.
The young players are properly looking to the veterans as their mentors. Guarantee that every young pitcher respects mark Buerhle a lot more than Pete Walker.
This is a great team now....as good as any I have seen. I could probably manage them and not screw it up. Of course, I would bat Revere first and Tulo fifth. Smoak can contribute from sixth.
The umpire conspiracy? thinking about that one. I am concerned but not convinced...lets see how it goes for a few more games.
Aside from your personal perception, what proof do you have? Do you attend practices or team meetings? What inside insight do you have that the rest of us don't.The players on this team are managing and coaching themselves.
gee whiz Eddie, just comes from watching every game.....opinions are free, I have a few....feel free to disagreeAside from your personal perception, what proof do you have? Do you attend practices or team meetings? What inside insight do you have that the rest of us don't.
You have lost all credibility with this ridiculous claim that you have no way of defending with fact.
Some people around here think you must have their permission before you can express an opinion.:eyebrows:gee whiz Eddie, just comes from watching every game.....opinions are free, I have a few....feel free to disagree
Unlikely he was referring to just the Sunday Toronto-K.C. game, he never mentioned that game.I might be mistaken, but think Skyrider was just referring to just the past Toronto - KC game, and that only two Jays were suspended.
That despite hitting Donaldson in 1st, and grazing him twice, its BS that no Royal was suspended too. Tempers flared on both sided, and anyone with half a clue knew Sanchez didn't hit a guy on purpose. The only suspension should have been Gibby for coming back out.
Aside from that point, he is quite right that Gibbons is tossed way too easy, and look at how easy Osuna was tossed too a few weeks back.
But safe to say Skyrider knows MLB suspensded everyone outside that one game lol
The Blue Jays got calls for strikes that were out of the zone today too.If he wasn't, then I'm at a loss. As you noted, there had been a ton of suspension this year, and most would be naïve to think it only included Jays.
I'm not so quick to dismiss the conspiracy. Yesterday the 'phantom' strikes were called, and if watching todays game, explain the first two balls called strike on Colabello in the 7th.
I don't see it so heinous that I'd say all the MLB is pitted against Toronto. But perhaps a combo of Gibbons visits, Bautista tantrums and such have soured some Umps into making these greasy calls at times.
I'm certain when listening to the post game on the radio yesterday, that they said John Gibbons is now tied for being ejected the most times this year. Yesterdays ejection was a perfect example of needles. Gibbons politely walked out and said "Can I ask you a question" and GONE!
He said it in the post game interview. It was totally unwarranted.
For sure, and like you said, the bad calls against other teams do favor the Jays too.
Yes but he made his point. A fan was heckling him, Jose looked to see who it was and gave him an Italian Job.lets hear it for the pitchers.....esp Marc 0000000........funny watching Bautista's gyrations...looked like he was practising masturbation in the ninth but doing it all wrong...lol
