Lets get back to the scene or video for those of you who have not watched it. That punch of his was vicious. Almost deliberate as someone he knew and resented before this occurrence.
And the fact that he took off right after, is proof of it. I believe the reason why she raised a fist, is that she new this guy.

I don't give a fuk who this Andre BS is, he's a piece of shit, who thinks his shit don't stink. An athlete punching a woman in the face and drawing blood no less, and then taking off as not to get noticed.
Sorry piece of shit, you were caught om camera. You would think that an athlete of his stature could sercombe to this type of attitude. Something is terribly wrong here.

Boy that was dramatic, I'm sure for whoever has entered this thread, it never dawned on them to watch the video..........as usual blah blah blah. I will give you some credit for nearly forming proper sentences this time.

And drawing blood no less, an fine fine titilianism.:D:p

Hyperbole much? You started with, 'Lets get back to the scene or video for those of you who have watched it,' and two sentences after, placed your assumptions into the video (as if you haven't watched it), mentioning that they may have known each-other beforehand, although nothing shown or said points to that. SMH.....

From then on, I didn't even read your post.

I'm 46 and in many ways "old school", but have always felt that as a woman, if I raise my fist at someone, whether male or female, showing an intent to harm them I had better expect that I might get a fist raised back or worse. In other words, I don't start things I don't intend to see to the finish, like this young woman or the little guy starting a fight with the biggest guy in the bar because he thinks he's invincible with his buddies there for support. It's called street logic and that's been around forever!

P.S. A person can get "beat up" by words as well, which can have a much more far reaching effect than physical bruises.

– Johnson looks to politely ask a female to his left to allow him through to the bar

– A different female student to the right whips around and says something to Johnson, who ignores her and tries to maintain his position in line

– Female student whips around again, seemingly unprovoked, and starts yelling at Johnson

– Johnson is now enraged after having been confronted twice by the female student

– Female student raises her fist and appears to be threatening Johnson

– Johnson, not wanting to be struck, grabs her arm to prevent her from swinging.

– Johnson appears to be warning her not to swing at him and continues to restrain her

– Female student uses her other fist to punch Johnson

– Johnson retaliates by punching the female student back

If someone stupid enough to pick a fight with someone bigger than them, they deserve to get shit on. In this case that someone happens to be a pretty blonde girl.

I'm with the guy here. The girl needs to be charged as well.

But I also agree that he shouldn't have hit her back solely based on the ramifications on his future career. Sad that this is the society we live in.

I was socially liberal in college and this is one of the reasons why I stay the fuck away from that camp now. The crazy liberals are turning our society into an authoritarian state.

Deepest respect to women who act like a lady but for those who act like a guy (punching and fighting) they should get what equal rights affords them from men. However society is stuck in a two-tier standard and travesty "assaults" such as this and Ray Rice's which are mere self defence from being pummeled result in men having to be punching bags or they are vilified and punished for defending themselves from an agressive assault by women who act like c**ts.
Did you just equate this with the Ray Rice incident? smh...

Here is the deeper problem. Even Johnson's own attorney admits to the wrong doing.

Not sure I want to watch a 12 minute video where somebody (apparently his lawyer according to you) says he did something wrong. Virtually everybody in this thread agrees that Johnson's actions were wrong (he obviously overreacted). The point that people disagree on is that the woman is also guilty of assault, escalating the situation, and therefore should be charged.

I don't know if I agree with the Ray Rice comparison, but for me when Solange went apeshit on Jay-Z in that elevator, she's lucky it wasn't me because I would have slapped the taste out of her mouth.

I did watch it and Johnson's lawyer, while pointing out that his client was wrong and is taking responsibility for his wrongdoing (e.g. volunteering at a shelter for women of domestic violence), he also states that the actions of both individuals in the video are unacceptable. I agree with him and isn't it interesting that she is quiet all of a sudden, opting not to comment when asked to by NBC.

Typical. And its not according to me, this is according to what his lawyer says in an interview. Lack of common sense and maturity cost him his career. Nuff said !!

Did you at least listen to the whole video. These violent actions are running rampant in the sport of football, this is not one isolated case.

I did listen to the whole video, twice!

Can there be violence related to sports and is there sometimes a culture of acceptance to this violence in sports? Yes, but clearly that's not the case here as he's suspended/kicked off the team. Bear in mind that the media wants their story and sometimes hypes/exaggerates/sensationalizes things for ratings. Not all athletes are violent and not all schools are accepting of this behaviour, as pointed out by the host.

Is she completely innocent here? No and that's coming from a woman who knows the score, much like Whoopi. She behaved in a completely unacceptable way (e.g. uttering racial slurs, etc.) and paid the consequence as well.

The only difference being that her bruise will heal while his possible future career may be ruined.

Both are to blame, not just him!

On the surface he appears to have learned his lesson. I wonder, did she? We'll never know because she refuses to comment on her actions in this matter.

I was particularly taken back, by the brutality of the hit. Definitely this young man has issues. Or maybe a violent streak !! That's all I'm going to say on this thread.

May I be excluded from that group please.:D

This kid's career is far from over, just on hold. He'll say the right things, take a few courses and he's good to go. The lawyer's saying stuff to tell people what they want to hear. I guarantee there were some attaboys over this behind closed doors.

She probably originally wanted to fuck him and he wanted none of it. Women can act strange when they want to fuck a guy, go to great lengths at playing hard to get. I'm sure everyone in the bar knew who that kid was, qb at Florida state is a big deal.

She's no saint that's for sure. He should've walked away instead, never to acknowledge her again. If your theory is true, then maybe he has to ensure she doesn't stalk him and get a restraining order.
