Still win even after Stanton gets 2 home runs and even after Dan Haren pitches a great game.
Team is so much better with Bautista back in the outfield.

It's going to be really tough for any of the current generation to win 300 games. With a five man rotation and teams going with bullpen specialists it's going to take a long career with no injuries and decent run support on a regular basis.

Awfully tough. Pitcher starts at 20 years old (doesn't happen very often) and wins 15 games/year for 20 years. That is 300 on the nose.

Heard Zaun's comments. I have mixed feelings as I don't want to see a young arm injured but the Jays are on a roll and I prefer to see them continue with the rotation as it is and try to keep the momentum going. Let him skip a start some other time!

Edwin is streaky, but when he gets hot, look out. Even without a high batting average, he is a legit annual 30HR, 100RBI guy.

King Felix will have to have a couple of 20 win years in the next few seasons to get to 300.
He's at 134 right now, let's give him 13 more for balance of 2015.
That'll put him at 147 wins 11 years in.
Should he play 9 more seasons (he's signed for 4 more years after this year) he projects at 267 wins, based on his present win rate.

Kershaw is in his 8th season, he's at 103 right now, lets give him 10 more wins this season, he'd be at 113.
Should he play 12 more seasons, he projects at 283 wins, based on his present win rate.

Presuming good health for both pitchers, I'd put my money on Kershaw rather than Hernandez.


An aside, Kershaw's salary for the next 6 years: $32,571/$34.571/$35.571/$35.571/$34.571/$35.571 (thru 2020)
And Hernandez's salary for the next 5 seasons: $24,857/$25.857/$26.857/$26.857/$27.857 (thru 2019)

According to Wiki, 23 rookies have thrown no hitters since 1901, 3 in their 1st start, none since 1953.

Wilson Álvarez & Clay Buchholz threw no hitters in their 2nd career starts.

They go this afternoon as the Jays go for the sweep. . Copeland vs Koehler

Copeland is 4-1 with an era of 1.97 for Buffalo.
This is his first MLB start.
He was called up for this spot start to give Sanchez some rest.
I happen to agree with an earlier statement that 'the rest' could have come in a week or two.
