I think it's outrageous that they sat out (not blaming the girls though).

Yes that was the final score for the game (last paragraph in the article).
It's easy to fault the Muslim team (and they are not blameless) but I wonder how much pressure came for the girls' own teammates and/or coaches.
Did anyone say "We're a team - we all play."?
Or did they say "We need to run up the score"?
Yeah this is NOT OK in any way. When religious freedom starts negatively impacting others around them, the religious freedom needs to come second to the other people's rights. I'm fine with multiculturalism, but not at the expense of others.
That being said, the manner in which some cultures treat women makes me absolutely sick. There is no place for that in Canada (or the rest of the the westernized world), and if they want to behave like archaic dicks, they can go back to the wartorn shitholes they came from.

Exactly what makes you think it is your society. The Canadian society as we knew it was sabotaged and put to bed by the late great a**hole ************ when he created his "JUST SOCIETY" just to promote the French portion of Canada by destroying the English portion of Canada.
Bullshit. Plenty of Muslims compromise. Plenty of Muslims drink, eat pork (or non-halal food), and make physical contact with women not a close relative. Pretty much the same as most Christians ignore fish on Fridays, have premarital sex and use birth control. The conflict isn't between religions unwilling to compromise but rather between individual people who make individual choices that infringe on the rights of others.
And as for this situation, the private school should face sanctions from the league.

The girls chose to sit out for the good of their team. The need the goal against to move up in the standings.
We can not continue to bow down to everyone's religions. They have stop singing O'Canada in some City council meetings because it offends some of the other "cultures".
This is Canada, we sing our national anthem, we play sports that have both boys and girls on the teams.

As what has already been stated,...people come from some shit hole of a country,...then once here for a while,...want to change Canada into another shit hole of a country.

I understand that the Muslim team did not complain until they were losing 3-1. If they were so concerned about the two girls on the opposing team, why didn't they say something at the outset. They were merely sore losers looking for an excuse to save face and stop the game.

I understand why they felt pressured to do sit out- but they should never have been put in that position.
No one's rights should be used to suppress anyone else's. Civilized people tolerate, they don't dominate. The ISNA team, offered to forfeit the game, rather than request, let alone demand, any other sort of accommodation. The girls who were playing on the opposing team in the boys' league offered to sit out, so the game could continue. And they got the high-goal count they wanted. No compromise is ideal, but civilization is built on them.
If Fridays were regular game days, would you be arguing that Catholics' "oppressive and backward ideology" shouldn't make Good Friday a bye-day?
Your argument is fallacious. It's like saying "I know a black guy who likes country music". So? The argument here isn't to find the exception, it's to define the rule. What do the majority of Muslims believe or support?
You are confusing "bad muslims" or hypocritical Muslims with compromise. I know of plenty of Muslims who break their own rules but expect others to abide by them. Plenty of them will take a swig of forbidden alcohol but support prohibition.
There's also no denying that there is plenty of "liberal" Muslims as well. Nobody is denying that. What you are not providing proof of is that the majority of Muslims in the world fall in that open-minded category whereas there is plenty of proof that the opposite is true, that a great number, if not the majority (understand that doesn't mean 100%) support a strict view of Islam AND that it should be imposed on the rest of the world (ie. You and me) regardless of our own beliefs.
Name me another religion that is similar today?
