JD relax. It was never about this season.
The Raptors are going out in the first round. I do not think there is any doubt now.
Washington decided to go for it this season. They signed Pierce and it looks like it will work for them.

Maybe the Raps sign a vet with playoff experience this off season and see what happens next season, as long as it is a free agent signing.
I do not want to trade a young player with potential for short term gain.

Washington got Pierce on a two year deal for over $5 per.

IH prescient thoughts on the situation. Tough to see what's happening but it was always about the 5 year plan. Agree about a vet though to bridge into 2016 season. The big moves, I think, will still come next summer but the moves this summer will start dictating next years stories. JD, don't get all Leafs on this group. Raps have always known they aren't great, but last 18 months were an overachievement and we all knew the 2016 summer frenzy was going to define Masai's tenure. Casey has grown win total with this core every year and once that core gets some real help, then we can get down on them when they lose! But till then keep behind this group!
Game 4 win will be a mini statement and allow the boys at least one more game at home......let's go Raptors! :thumb:

Right now its all about the big picture. One thing that this playoffs has shown us is that the old NBA saying, "defense and rebounding are the keys to winning in the post-season." still holds true. I know it stings; especially, when you consider this team was in 1st place in the East for about a month and half.

I doubt Casey gets fired. His excuse is that he doesn't have the right players to implement his defensive style.

What you will probably see is more of an emphasis to get bigger and athletic in the front court. I can see Masai going after players like Javale McGee, Andray Blatche, and Brandon Wright for 1yr deals to prove themselves. I'd also like to see Masai go after Aaron Brooks. We don't really have PG that can beat guys off-the-dribble. I'd like for him to go after KJ McDaniels. That kid has the potential to be the next Tony Allen. I'd also like to see DeAndre Daniels (Raps 2nd rounder last year) brought in. He's got Tayshaun Prince with a bettter jump shot written all over him.

If Casey cannot work with that group to make a better defensive & rebounding team, then he should be canned.

As much as I like Lou Williams, his style does not fit this team. I can see him being let go along with Fields, Hayes, Hansbrough, Stiemsma, and Amir Johnson.

Remember, this is the 2nd youngest team in the playoffs with none of the guys in the rotation over the age of 30.

I am disappointed in the progress of TRoss and Jonas in these playoffs .

Raps will win the next 4 games
Are you kidding me Raptors, come on. One thing I loved about this team entering this year was that they were the anti-Leafs. Fun to watch, play together, great fans, bright future.

Now? They're going out like the Leafs. Is Toronto cursed. God help the Jays if the stink of sports teams in this city rubs off on them. Maybe it already has.

Should be an interesting offseason.

By the way Raptors, you're not worthy of my sig pic chick! No sig pic for you!

Does anyone think that the MLSE disaster called the Leafs doesn't rub-off everywhere in the organization, or that the Raptors good play early in the season was the exception, not the rule.

This is MLSE, people! If they can screw up, they will. Paid more attention to the "We the North"campaign to sell sweaters than building team cohesion & defense.

I am constantly astonished that anyone in Toronto can support anything put out by MLSE. If you idiots keep buying what they're selling then you get what you deserve. The fans deserve nothing because they support losers readily and without qualm.

Don't buy their merch, don't watch the games, deprive them of revenue if you want things to change. Otherwise, you are part of the problem.

i'll blame MLSE if there is news that Masai was blocked from doing a trade to help this team... other than that , i can't see how the Leafs sucking can affect the Raps.. this is all on the players and coaching staff.. MLSE doesnt play the game, and from what i saw they did go all out to promote the team... i dunno , i just can't blame ownership yet... now this off season will be the true test of MLSE's support of the raptors..

The two teams live & work in the same building as do the same staffs, as well as having common resources. What the leafs did this year could depress 10,000 **********s on X, to say nothing of all their fellow employees.

It's like pretending that a dual harveys/swiss chalet are 2 different restaurants.

It is one corporation, and one long abortion of poor performance, mediocrity and really dumb fans.

Keep pretending otherwise, and keep being disappointed, and keep wasting your time and money

I used too, like many blame Bargs for their defensive shortfalls but he wasn't there in these playoffs and last half of the season and this team had a record number of defensive lapses during games during that period

Raptors made the Wiazrds look like the Spurs ... this team was so emotionally immature .

i might go as far as to say adding Lou Williams this year made our team defensively shit..last year guys would go all out to help on D,or shift quicker to open perimeter shots.. all of a sudden we add Lou and no one is playing that same style of D... i dunno, but unlike shai , im not gonna say this year's dissapointment is some systematic disaster , more like adding a part and figuring out it makes the other parts weaker... we did have a 49 win season...we have an off season that could bring in some of the pieces to make us better...we also have a shit load of money under the cap for next year....other teams that have won championships (a la the Mavs, and Spurs ) in the last few years, they've all been embarrased in the playoffs before they won their rings...sometimes losing can do alot more than winning..i think this is the case for this and next year's Raptors...
