Censored internet is available at every hotel. Easy access to most websites, but slow (while all the government peepers log on to see what you're doing). About $5 for 10 minutes

i speak no spanish can you do well on only english?
No. Of course not.

You'll do much, much better if you speak Castilian (Spanish).

The girls love the accent in the same way North American women love a Brit accent.

However, basic Spanish will do you just fine.

I'm thinking of going to Havana for a week, looking for an update on decent hotel with good bar, pool and restaurant.
Copa Cabana and Panorama H10 have been mentioned, can anyone recommend a place in Central Havana, close to the nightlife?

Thanks Book
I am looking for a new apartment too. Anyone with any contacts in Old Havana, Central Havana, please let me know.

I am thinking about going somewhere in feb. I'm decide between Sosua or Havana.

The way I'm to look at this trip is I'm actually going for a fun time, drink beer, dance, site seeing, and if an opportunity comes up to spend a memorable night with a nice dark Cuban women, let the chips fall where they may. If I view as a pure hobby trip, I'll just get stressed and too much focus on trying to score will take away from some of the other fun things to do while on vacation.

Like some of the others, I doubt I'll get too many "hola's" as I speak no Spanish, and have totally let myself go physically in the last 5 years so I'm no brad pitt. I have a great personality, but that hardly helps when you don't speak a lick of Spanish.

Having all that said, I kind of want to go because this county is on the virge of changing.

The days are numbered. They were so long before Obama and R. Castro shook hands at Mandela's funeral.

Go now or forever hold your peace.

I'll be there next week.

I'm Going to Varadero in one weeks time. I'll be staying at a high end hotel. Does anyone have any information on women in this area of Cuba. My understanding is that it is a big tourist area with great beaches but may not have a lot of locals unless they are employed at a resort.

I saw one review where someone was propositioned by the chamber maid.

Any help is appreciated.

Again, and as per countless posts before this one:

Go anywhere in Cuba, ANYWHERE, except Varadero!

Don't know if it has changed, there used to be action available at calle 62 by the Casa de Ron. Street lined with bars and clubs at the end of the town nearest the AI's.
Never went myself but saw some stuff posted online.
Girls have to be taken to rooms rented by the hour and they are jumpy because police will arrest them if they are obvious.
