you are comparing 1st world countries to the third world. Compare Christian communities in Africa or low caste communities in India with this behavior and you will find same behavior at society level.

Every religion has its adherents who still abide by the millennia-old scriptures / writings to the letter, even though societies and cultures have evolved over those same time periods.
