He started in the 60's, but never got his license. He picked it up again in the 90's. I've been flying since 1987. He's crashed at least four times. His two crashes in 2000 were his fault.

He probably doesn't fly enough to stay proficient, just like Jack Roush.
He will be 73 in July. Maybe after 4 crashes he should have packed it in. I would have.

Impress the girls with some exorbitantly expensive cars instead.

I do not know if the productions of Star Wars: Episode VII or Indiana Jones V was in production or if it was completed. If not completed he may not be able to finish because of his facial cuts
Yeah, its not like facial cuts dont heal or that makeup can be applied to cover them up

I think if anything this will enhance his career.
At age of 72 crash-landing a plane on a tiny golf course while practically unhurt is badass!!

Get better soon.

On another note they're thinking of Chris Pratt as the new Han Solo? I can see him just taking on all Indiana Jones too.

When life imitates art:

Wonder if Ann was with him...

And at least he didn't pick a remote island to crash land this time.

While on your past posting history I do believe you're a pilot, you are simply wrong on this one. Even experts are saying Ford showed great skills just to avoid trees and homes:

How hero pilot Harrison Ford crash landed his vintage plane on a golf course to avoid catastrophe over homes

'Harrison's been a great pilot. You can see by the fact that he survived this forced landing that he is a skilled aviator,' Paul Mitton, who produced a documentary about Ford's love of flying, told CNN.

'Just looking at the crash site, you see the trees nearby there's a tree not too far behind the aircraft.

'Had the wing clipped that, the airplane could have spun around, he could have been ejected, he could have ended up upside down. That would have been bad,' Mitton added.

Aviation expert Rick Dake told People that Ford's landing was amazing considering the unforgiving nature of the World War II-era plane.

'Everything he did was perfect,' Dake, of Aviation Consulting Experts, told People.

He says less-experienced pilots training on the plane during World War II would often crash because the plane tended to flip when the engine fails.

'That alone is testament to the great ability Harrison Ford had. He made a 180-degree turn with the engine seizing up on him. He almost made it to the runway,' Dake said
