Women downtown ... WTF?

I will weigh in with a slightly different perspective or experience ... I work in downtown Toronto in a pretty good sized office and I get out in public at sporting events, malls and restaurants, movies, festivals and concerts, and team sports like most people probably do. I've also lived in different US cities on both sides of the continent.

I have not experienced the type of behavior described in this thread in Toronto! I find ladies young and old to be very friendly and pleasant and willing to engage in a bit of banter ... and I'm not always the one to start it.

Its not that I'm a hunk or anything ... I am short and pudgy and losing hair .... not the best dresser ... :)

I think Toronto is a very friendly city what can I say!

fwiw I do think people are less friendly on airlines now and that may be because everyone has their own device to occupy them during the flight.
+1 .. i dunno what OP is talking about either.. women here are hot and very friendly.. but if you're the type to be picking up random women at work or in public , then yeah i can see them being cold and distant...why?..women here are smart, and dont fall for jerks and douchebags so easily like they do in Europe or the US

I completely agree and thank you for defending us lol! I also think women in Toronto know that it's a big city so they just want some headspace to chill out in and be left alone when they want to be alone. I have no problem approaching a man if I think he's good-looking but it's better if it's a date or something else, to share something with someone else.

Olivia

ok, so what is the difference between self confidence and self awareness?
Self confidence thinking you can take a hammer to your nuts.

Self awareness, after the hammer swings and hits, realizing you can't.

I can understand golddiggers because you can't fault a weak person for trying to make the best of what she has in life - her one shot at a good life. But what makes me shake my head are women with unrealistic expectations of men and total failure on self-awareness front:

a. A 5ft5 chick saying she won't date anyone less than 6ft
b. A chick who hasn't done university lay out expectations a mile long - what do you bring to the table?
c. A 35 year old woman who expects a guy to be Dr Brad Pitt, have traveled the world, studied with the Dalai Lama, scaled Everest, won 40 under 40 etc etc while she's employed in a union job as a teacher. Gimme a break! :)

Shallow, superficial and just plain deluded is what I don't understand.

And right about Toronto vs NYC except this ain't nothing like NYC - this is the poor man's pseudo New York!

I have to completely agree. Women in Toronto have a spec sheet of expectations. From my personal experience: speed dating, online dating, cold approach and single events being a single guy in Toronto is not fun. I found more success abroad.

Fugly Chud. It's a line from Clerks 2.

Although I didn't see the movie I do know what CHUD stands for [I think I looked it up because of clerks 2 although I remember seeing the movie at a rental place.
