The police said they are worried because there have been 5 recent attacks and in this one there's definitely been an escalation.

Also, policy definitely has something to do with this and it always trickles down.

Tell me how ???, the lack of clients ?? Or advertising, last I saw advertising on Bp is still in full swing. For the time being !!
Did you read the new law and the polls here at Terb ? Many clients are not visiting with escorts for fear of being arrested
so for many ladies business will be slow for the foreseeable future, and lots of competition for a shrinking client base.

great. So all the more reason for a "crackdown" to stem this surge in crime.

Great work!

I'd do a creative thumbs up like Jessy's but would still be working on it this time tomorrow. :)

So instead :thumb:

1:30 pm today police hold press conference to review case & announce arrests

1:35 pm today a liberal minded justice of the peace will grant these "honourable gentlemen" bail with minimum surety

All too likely with Canada's Criminal Protection System

These robberies and/or assaults happen all the time, maybe daily in the GTA. Could be under the new law this girl felt safe to call the police, and we now see it in the news. I'm not generally happy with the new law, but I do like the part that makes it so the girls are not seen as criminals.
But as a result the purchasers of sex are now at fault.

Bastards. They need to get severely punished. Armed Robbery. Go to fucking prison. NO TV, just the Bible and do hard labour busting rocks or concrete.
Further, it turns out they had kidnapped the victim of an early robbery.

Its a goddamn shame in this country that we have concurrent instead of consecutive sentencing. Nothing on the table there is likely to get more than 10 years. Now if we could stack em' like they do in the states, these guys would go away for 300+ years never to be seen again.

Personally, I am celebrating the fact that they caught three of the kids involved, I feel safer knowing that the police acted to fast, I feel safer knowing they are off the streets. I feel safer. My feeling safer is not a sign of disrespect to that SP it is exactly the opposite of that, I can only imagine what she is going through and I can only imagine she would feel better knowing that those fuckers wont be doing the same to another girl.

I'm betting he's right, there's probably several victims who have yet to come forward. This gang went from robbery to kidnapping to gang rape in a few weeks.

I hope this press conference encourages them to do so if that is the case. Please be safe ladies.
Jessica, the TPS seems to have removed the video of the press conference, and their Youtube Channel lists videos from oldest to newest (two stupid things on their part).

To the point, yes the Inspector mentioned that at the time one of the men was arrested in a car on Steeles Avenue in Toronto at about 3:00 p.m. Tuesday he had a female SP in the car who was an victim of an earlier break-in and whom they had kidnapped. They had her 'phone a boyfriend to bring them money (apparently they didn't take enough from her when they first robbed her) they then assaulted and robbed him. Canadian Criminal Law is different but in the U.S. this kidnapping would have put them into a whole different world of sentencing.

Hang 'em high.
I'm with you on this one. Those assholes, should hang from their balls. That poor young girl. Who knows, maybe she had a friend who was afraid to watch out for her as the new laws and see what happens here.
Bill C-36 is already creating problems.
I hope all are on board to vote PC out on the next Federal Election. I sure am.

It's a tough call for what to do with these kids. If you stick them in prison even for a short time, their lives are effectively over i.e. good luck getting a job with a criminal record especially when they've been charged with sexual assault. If you let them rot in prison for the rest of their lives, then we're all still taking care of them.

I don't think you should hold the US prison system with such high regard. Isn't the US #1 or #2 in the world for the number of people incarcerated in the world? What a waste of human potential and dollars housing these people.

Thought I saw someone on this thread ask if the law would cause clients to shy away from STI testing out of fear of being caught. That post is gone now so who knows what else he said. Anyone know if the Hassle Free Clinic or even a personal physician can be compelled to reveal STI test results to LE? It also doesn't make sense to me that a positive test for a specific STI can link you to a specific lady.
