Just saw it in on CP24...thanks to Mr. McKay SPs are now vulnerable to these types of attacks. Conservatives really know how to prevent crime and protect women.

LOL it was funny how the cop on CP24 pretended to not know what "backpages" was

Terrible news, just saw on 680news Twitter. Says victim was an escort expecting client. 3 men entered in the room and was sexually assaulted by 2 of them and robbed.

Watch McKay say that by making the advertising of sexual services illegal, this type of thing will be prevented.

These robberies and/or assaults happen all the time, maybe daily in the GTA. Could be under the new law this girl felt safe to call the police, and we now see it in the news. I'm not generally happy with the new law, but I do like the part that makes it so the girls are not seen as criminals.

Cases like these are used to justify politicians policies, and this is how the crackdown on SP's clients will begin.

I remember the crackdown on massage parlours in Richmond Hill back in 2004-2005 and it was because of a murder case that happened in 2004 and as far as I remember the murders are still unsolved.

What do those 2 clowns carling and nobody have to say about this? Was is police brutality and the oppressive white man who caused these 2 black males to rape this woman? Was it the one white man who was with them ordering them to rape her?

It must be the white mans fault right? Right?????

Frankly I just want a safe Environment for both SPs and Clients. Rightfully SPs should be able to advertise with no consequences. Douche-bags who choose to hurt SPs be it either pimps or clients should be prosecuted. I don't know much about this new law. It confuses me. I just want to enjoy my hobby and pay the lovely ladies(NOT THE PIMPS) who choose to help with that.

Are you for fucking real? So everytime an escort is hurt/robbed/raped/murdered from here on in, blame it on C-36?

This shit has UNFORTUNATELY been going on for time immemorial, right under everyone's fucking noses. Every day. But many wanted to ignore the ugly/under-belly side of the sex trade until now, when they can use it to further their anti government crusade.

Doesn't anybody understand anything ? gesssssssssssssssssssssss

This has nothing to do with C-36 ........ this is not a conspiracy either for fuck sake.... robberies happen in this industry all the damn time.. the only reason it's on the news this time is because she got RAPPPPEEEEDDDDDDDD ! If an SP gets robbed most of the time they don't even report it to the cops and if they do the cops are not going to care all that much... but once the girl gets hurt/ raped ..they do give a fuck because it's now a serious crime.

Just saying...

Yes cases like this are usually a gateway for politicians to push their policies and this would show cause for them to have a crackdown on escorts clients.

The crackdown on massage parlours in Richmond Hill happened because some people got hurt and the police justified closing down those businesses due to the murders, only time will tell what they decide to do with this case.

Very good point KBear (even though they might not have been charged, they are less fearful to complain now in such cases, perhaps).

It's sad that this happens. I know an indy gal (used to advertise here) who was robbed at knife point way before this legislation. Never called the cops.

Assault and robbery were always a serious crime, and should've been reported to the police before, but maybe due to ignorance of the law or contact info of certain/key police officers that assisted SPs, it wasn't.

Not that the old law would had made any difference

but a fully legal prostitution system, surely yes. This girl would had been working on a proper brothel with enough security to avoid this kind of incident
