That list won't change anything for the law. If she is really going to do this she should wait during election time. Trudeau suspended two MP for allegations of sexual harassment. What would Harper do if a number of his MP were accused of being clients of prostitutes? He couldn't really save face without suspending them.Isn't it time for Bedford to publish her list?
You know what, maybe Harper found out that too many of his MPs are hobbying and had to create this law just to keep them in check. That list won't change anything for the law. If she is really going to do this she should wait during election time. Trudeau suspended two MP for allegations of sexual harassment. What would Harper do if a number of his MP were accused of being clients of prostitutes? He couldn't really save face without suspending them.
I guess the logic is that the picture cannot be modified and has to be original? Still, not sure why. However, they don't ask for the picture to be of the actual provider. :happy:Blurred faces will be unblurred and only masks will be a way to maintain anonymity. ( I don't understand the logic of this? Comments please...)
Sorry to ask a question that may have already been covered but I am just curious about the following:
If someone is arrested, is it a municipal fine or a federal offence?
If Premier Wynne follows the suit of Victoria and shuns the Bill as unsafe, will law enforcement also follow suit? Or do they arbitrarily enforce federal law. What is the chain of command in other words? Thanks
On Friday, November 7th, NOW paper enforced new policies: Advertisers have to sign a statement they are advertising solely for themselves, aren't advertising for anyone else, etc.
Also they are revamping there wording by eliminating price, acronyms, anything referring to sexual acts.
Pictures with stars covering the tits and ass will be cancelled and no nudity will be allowed.
Blurred faces will be unblurred and only masks will be a way to maintain anonymity. ( I don't understand the logic of this? Comments please...) I can't remember when their deadline is but they said the statements had to be signed immediately in order to maintain advertising status.
I can't imagine the hustle and bustle the classified Erotic Department must be going through to convert so many women - what is it, about 7 pages of ads, some very tiny?
The policy statement was offered in English and Spanish for signing.
Within 48 hours, TERB announced advertising policy changes as well. It would seem they are following the suit of NOW.
Exactly, I believe they are allowed to show their face if the lady chooses too.most SPs don't show thier faces
I am so proud of this woman! She is so very brave.Dominatrix Terri-Jean Bedford to Receive Ontario Civil Liberties Award

When Peter MacKay introduced C-36 in the middle of the year, his team came up with a line to repeat: that this bill is to go after “the perpetrators, the perverts, and the pimps”.
There’s a lot to unpack in those few words, so for now I’m only going to focus on the middle. It’s pretty clear who he’s referring to as he disdainfully sneers the word “perverts” – he’s talking about clients. He’s talking about my customers. He may very well be talking about you.
Before I continue, I want to make one thing absolutely clear: As a client, Cupid’s values your privacy above all else. We even welcome non-disclosure contracts for celebrity and public figures who are clients. In my mind there’s no reason why an escort-client relationship should not have the same weight as a lawyer-client privilege or even priest-penitent privilege. Out of all consensual activity that occurs between the two parties, only that which the client chooses to divulge ever leaves the room.
That said, like lawyers and priests, escorts “talk shop” with each other – always in generalities, about experiences, about ethics, and about techniques in order to become better at what they do. One of the topics frequently discussed is the attitude of the client.
After 10 years in this business, I can definitively say this: the stereotypes of all clients being either coked-up, misogynist Bay Street assholes or some grimy lowlife pulled out of an evening crime drama are false.
All clients are different. They come from all walks of lives. Some are shy and have trouble meeting women, let alone talking with women. Some are lonely and need sympathetic ears and comforting arms to embrace them. Half the time escorts wind up simply being therapists – clients use an escort’s services by the hour and sometimes don’t even have sex. They just cuddle and talk, and after an hour the client feels much happier and more confident.
Some clients have disabilities. Let’s face it: people are prejudiced and shallow, and some don’t want to spend their lives or even a night with a differently-abled person. Many disabled people are fortunate enough to find someone in this superficial world to share their lives with, and it fills me with joy to hear such stories. Many disabled people however are not so fortunate. Disabled people are not defined by their disability, but by are defined by the fact they’re people, and people need interaction with other people. Cupid’s has many escorts available for clients with disabilities. Amy Leibovitch, one of the three sex workers involved in the Bedford case, said in an interview she estimates a third of her clients have a disability – compare that with the 2006 national average of 14.3%. Gayle MacDonald, an intervener in the Bedford Case and a researcher who co-authored a book on sex workers, interviewed one who only sees disabled clients, and this sex worker reported that her work brought her much happiness.
There is no “the client” as a class of person. You cannot say “the pervert” and have everyone nod in agreement as to what sort of person you’re referring to, that being “the client”. Those who do have bought into the lies this moralistic, hateful legislation is based on.
These are not perverts. These are human beings. If wanting basic human interaction makes someone a “pervert” as Peter MacKay insists, then there’s something seriously wrong with him and not with us.
Me too! Way to go Jillian!!!:thumb::clap2: I am so impressed I will be booking a Cupid girl on December 6th!
