Canada Man:So what are you saying Canada Man, please speak up.
Right up there with Leonardo DiCaprio on climate change.I must admit when i saw footage on my TV of Emma at the U.N my first thought was,"Great Voltamort has returned"....my second thought was"Wait, what are her credentials again?
Ha ha... exactly!Right up there with Leonardo DiCaprio on climate change.
Here's the thing about celebrities taking up "a cause". Whenever it happens, it becomes an item on the news and the cause is helped by the publicity generated if not by any real expertise. Of course, some stupid people are going to think "gee, I guess cause X is a valid issue because my favourite celebrity is speaking up about it". And some ever stupider people are going to say "People who judge a cause based on a celebrity are dumb. Oh, and the cause is invalid because that celebrity spokesperson is a hypocrite." Dumb and dumber.Ha ha... exactly!
These celebrity types preaching about the "carbon footprint" cracks me up! Private jets, numerous carbon wasting homes, gas guzzling limo's and extravagant yachts...

Hypocrites.
(But he does reportedly own a Prius, so I guess that makes it OK... )
Von, I understand that she has gone through horrors that are beyond my ken. And I realise that these horrors have informed her discourse and the positions she takes. That does NOT mean by any stretch that she is right or that I should agree with her.But scouser1, how would you like it if some witch doctor sliced your clit off?
Very well said!Ok so this isn't just about "liberal media" for you.
I don't know where to go though with your dislike of Emma Watson. Whether she is the best UN spokesperson on anything is debatable. She does speak from a position of extreme fortune which makes anything she says seem a bit rich. But I believe she means it and I have not seen her say anything contentious or offensive. Especially not the quote you reference above in which you have completely missed her point and attribute her as bashing other young women.
She is at least saying something (as compared to other popular silver spoon in their mouth hot young celebrities of her age eg. Miley, Lindsay) and compared to some strident radical feminists is trying to do so in a rational way from the soap box she has been provided. My view though and clearly not yours so carry on.
errrr, derp what?she said girls she know quit sports because they don't want to be muscular. i don't support those that bash girls for maintaining their natural femininity.
