I love burgers ... So many places mentioned that I have not visited and in some cases never even heard of, but it is my mission to eventually try them all(assuming the business is still going).

My opinion ...

Best(in no order);
Burger's Priest
Five Guys
Hero Burgers
> my own homemade ... saw someone post that, have to agree. At home you get to make it anyway you want with whatever you want. tough to beat that.

Good;
Johnny's ... on Vic Park(at Sheppard), north of 401
Apache ... years ago I forget where it is.
> most bars have good burgers, but I find are pricey

Has their place;
McDonald's
Burger King
Wendy's ... for me I only go to Wendy's for spicy chicken burger. Their beef burgers always have a taste I do not like.

Apaches is west of Kipling on the north side of Dundas, in Etobicoke (near Six Points Plaza).

Magoo's a great, gourmet burger place in a plaza at Dundas and Royal York.

Wimpy's? Those burgers look gross. I'm weary of any preshaped burger, likely frozen. I want a fresh ground ball of grass fed burger meat (preferably brisket) with no fillers pressed on a flat top grill with nothing more than salt. Toppings as desired.

For those of you who like a Stockyards/Burger's Priest style burger, check out The Rude Boy on Roncesvalles. Tatsy burgers, I had the Sting and it was really good. Try their their Monday $5.00 burger special.
Great point.

I've officially cut Burgers Priest out of the list. Their Maple location, grossest burger ever! Holy Chuck, equally gross.

However....Stupidburger is my new go-to!
I happen to be in the Vaughan/ Wonderland area today and remembered that Stupid Burger is in this area.
I thought you were making fun of us ... ok you want me to believe there is a 'Stupidburger', what kind of name is that ... so I looked it up.
Oh there it is, just coincidence, I find myself just down the street today ... wow it is very good. I had the bacon/cheese.
They could be a little more generous with the fries, but otherwise it is very good, a definite repeat.

Agreed about Burger Priest, great fabulous luscious, delicious burger....at the original location, however it is difficult for such a place to maintain the same level of quality control at their other branches. Sometimes disappointing gruesome fair can be had at their newer locations unfortunately, not their fault as one would need McDonalds budget and quality control team to maintain the universal standard. As an aside, everyone's opinion on burgers doesn't address our vast differences on what toppings we enjoy, which is another variable. Those who like few toppings can really taste the difference between burgers. For those who put the works on every burger, the story might be same shit, different burger.
Which location is the original ?
I went to Yonge, N of Lawrence location and as I said I thought it was great.

Kipling/Dundas .... yes ok, I have work business there that is likely how I found it.

There's also that burger joint on the south west corner of Caledonia and St. Clair - what's the name again? Shit can't remember.
You mean the iconic "Dairy Freeze". The institutional night club hang out for decades.

Big Boy Burger. Thickson and Consumer in Whitby. Just off the 401. Great burgers, excellent fries. Also love the steak sandwich. Old fashion feel. Friendly place. Think there may be one in Scarborough as well

Highly recommended!

Wow, I didn't notice.

The Griffin Pub on Bloor near Runnymede has a pretty good burger.

I like Magoos in Etobicoke.
I'm also a big fan of Magoos and Griffin Pub (I love that they offer all their burgers with "lamb" as an option for the patty).. But Grillway still tops my list.. It just tastes beefier somehow..

I think an honourable mention should go out to Apache Burger.. While they're no longer the "in" burger joint, they still put out a damn good product..

I've got to try that obscure Grillway some day. I live in the west end and not far from all these locales.

Apache was a high school favourite. Still open late.

There's also the Great Burger Co. on Kipling north of the Queensway (it's a chain). Not bad.

Didn't know about the 'lamb' option but that must be tasty for Griffin.

Too bad there's no Runnymede movie theater like back in the day.

P.S. The owner of Magoos went to my high school.

I came upon Big Boy Burger by accident after a mid-day hobbying session lol with a popular Durham gal. Those burgers were good too.

Unless you order a burger fresh ground from a single cut of beef, the patties are likely packed with a wide array of beef leftovers ranging from gristle to sinew to intestines, the incubators for E. coli. A single patty can contain fragments of hundreds of cows, raised on feedlots thousands of kilometres apart and pumped full of hormones and antibiotics.

I like to know what I'm eating!

I miss the Runnymede theater.. But Chapters did a pretty good job of keeping the place friendly and fun (and "theater like")... I shudder ever ytime I think about it becoming a Shoppers Drug Mart..
